I received my NAO1 o 12/17/07. I will be out of the country visiting my fiancé and will wait with her while the visa is being processed. If we receive an RFE, I know that I can be notified of this at the USCIS website, but will I need the hard copy of the RFE in order to respond to it? Thanks.

You will have to mail the actual original RFE letter back along with the evidence they requested. Have someone check your mail so they can notify you.

You can't rely on teh USCIC website. It is not always accurate. Recently, I told someone else that our I-129 is still pending, when in reality we are AOS approved.

And if the Ukranian postal system is as "reliable" (for small values of reliable) as the Russian postal system, then if you do get an RFE have whoever is checking your mail FedEx or DHL it to you. It will be pricey but you don't want your RFE getting lost in the mail.

Nobody says you need the original letter, they would be better off scanning it and e-mailing it rather than rely on the postal service or a delivery company... a lot cheaper too....

YMMV

Are you sure the original is not needed? Thought I read somewhere that the original is needed.
