me: "i don't know, how about we see a movie?"

him: "nahhhhhh"

me: "okay. how about ____?"

him: "nahhhhhh."

me: "i don't know either. so what do YOU want to do?"

him: "i don't know."

our life is exactly the opposite. We settle for not doing anything ever so we don't have to worry about finding something to do :P

well being depressed makes it all the more difficult to come up with anything (or to get the energy to DO IT even if we had an idea!)

i'm so glad i got all these ideas...(except the pregnancy one) and i hope i can convince my husband to try some of them with me! :energetic:

great news: my husband just got approved for his knee surgery so he'll soon be on his way in recovery and we can be active again! :D

a few months ago i moved from busy NYC to the significantly slower life of orange county, CA. (to say the least, ha!)

i'm having a difficult time coming up with ideas for things to do with my husband that we either haven't done 1000000x or he doesn't poo-poo. my husband was very active in his home country. he was always doing something whether it was school, football, swimming, boxing, etc. now that he is here i think he has a case of culture shock/depression. he also hurt his knee and cannot do any of the physical activities he is used to until after recovery. so combining depression and physical pain has made it pretty difficult. i have run out of ideas for activities we can share together!

what kinds of activities/hobbies do you share with your SO?

i'm tired of the conversation:

him: "what do you want to do today?"

me: "i don't know, how about we see a movie?"

him: "nahhhhhh"

him: "i don't know."

then the frustration begins. i really need :help: !

Jen, do you guys get the Laguna Beach community publication? There's city league sports that he could into.

It does sound like your hubby is in culture shock or maybe a little depression. I can also understand when he says, "I don't know" to your question asking him what he wants to do. He just moved from his home he has known all his life and all the things he used to do. It takes a lot of time to develop a network of friends in the US and establish a new routine of past times.

Is he a nature lover? Does he like sports? Does he like art? Music?

Maybe he just needs to meet some other morrocans to feel a little more settled.
