a few months ago i moved from busy NYC to the significantly slower life of orange county, CA. (to say the least, ha!)

i'm having a difficult time coming up with ideas for things to do with my husband that we either haven't done 1000000x or he doesn't poo-poo. my husband was very active in his home country. he was always doing something whether it was school, football, swimming, boxing, etc. now that he is here i think he has a case of culture shock/depression. he also hurt his knee and cannot do any of the physical activities he is used to until after recovery. so combining depression and physical pain has made it pretty difficult. i have run out of ideas for activities we can share together!

what kinds of activities/hobbies do you share with your SO?

i'm tired of the conversation:

him: "what do you want to do today?"

me: "i don't know, how about we see a movie?"

him: "nahhhhhh"

me: "okay. how about ____?"

him: "nahhhhhh."

me: "i don't know either. so what do YOU want to do?"

him: "i don't know."

then the frustration begins. i really need :help: !

I have the same problem with Neil he says he is bored but doesn't want to do any of the suggested activities and doesn't come up with anything on his own either! I know your frustration!

I try all of these things:

movies

grocery store (he loves going to the grocery)

go for a walk

the gym

the library

a bookstore

the mall

a museum (only a few here)

another city for the day

the zoo

rent a movie

cook together

go out to eat

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Well...Ours are mostly physical...We go skiing and bowling and paint balling and stuff like that. Maybe you could take him to a bar a play pool and have a couple of drinks so you can get out of the house? Or maybe Monopoly or home games like that? You could also start a nice garden or something since you guys live in CA?or buy him a dog/cat...Taking care of pets is usually a pleasant thing to do together...We have a cat and a fish aquarium...hmm...computer games? You guys can buy a play station and race cars or fight each other?...I cant come up with anything else :(((

I would say anything unusual and unique to your area.

We spent the last year just exploring the city.

My thing is, though, I am not a tour guide. If he's bored and wants to spend the day with me doing some activity, it's nice and fun. But, he has to be into it and want to do it. I'm not dragging around some bored husband for the sake of getting out of the house.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

No #######. I don't get what's so hard about this one. Hell if you want to see a movie, find a dark corner. If you want to play putt-putt, find a bush (leave the clubs.......many dirty hands and whatnot) If you want to go bowling, I don't know what to tell you.
