How long does it usually take before you get your interview date?

Hi.

I apologise as I'm sure I'm asking something that's been asked a million times before, and please, if it has, feel free to link me to where it's answered as I can't find the answer to the exact question I have, after trying many search terms.

I'm basically worried that it's taking too long to get my interview date, and that that's because I've done something wrong between getting my NOA2 and now.

I got my NOA2 shortly after my last trip to the US ended (I left on the 28th of November, got it on the 5th of December). I then booked my medical the next day, and filled out and sent the forms that the letter told me to.

I had my medical on the 21st, which I think went fine, and then a few days after that (around Christmas eve) I noticed that there was another thing in the letter saying that I had to fill in this checklist and submit the four pages of it before I could get an interview date.

I sent that on the first day the post office opened again after Christmas (the 27th), but I'm worried that I should have sent it when I sent all the other forms and stuff, and that there's going to be some huge delay now or they'll refuse my visa entirely. How long does it normally take from them recieving this checklist and finding out your interview date?

The other thing is, there was another checklist (one of the forms it said you had to fill out) which I filled out before sending this one and I'm also worried that I've messed things up by doing that. It really isn't very clear about what you're supposed to fill out and when, though. Are they still processing my application?

I'm in the United Kingdom, if that makes any difference.

I apologise for sounding so anxious but, like many people I'm dreading the interview and I just want this to be over with so I can go to the US and live with the woman I love, and the longer I'm waiting, the worse.

For the K3 checklist, you are not suppose to send it along with the DS-156. You only mail the checklist in AFTER you have obtain all the required items on it such as your police certificate and medical exam etc. I imagine it's the same as the K1, so I would not worry about that.

As for your interview date, what consulate are you being interviewed at? The time varies from consulate to consulate.

Remember, that because of the holidays they were closed for several days as well as other UK goverment agencies and services. I wouldn't be surprised if the checklist has only arrived to them now. I would allow at least two more weeks of processing before looking for your interview letter.

Good Luck.
