Well, I did it!

But I have to admit I felt like barfing afterwards. Maybe that was a little too much. Amazing the difference a few seconds can make.

How is the weather today? (changes in temp and humidty assuming you run outdoors)

Did you go from a 9 min mile to an 8 min mile just today?

Either way...congratulations. A birthday to remember!

I run inside so I can control my pace.

Last week I did it in 8:15 - tough, but not puke-worthy.

Well couch to 5k didn't work so well for me. Maybe a 50 year old shouldn't decide to start running.

Maybe I didn't try long enough. Just don't seem like a need to run if no one is chasin ya.

You shouldn't give it up altogether, Jackie. No reason you can't just work towards a brisk 5k walk. Alternate slow and fast walking instead of walking and running. In fact, I've read that if you're not jogging at a 10'-mile pace or faster, then you might as well be walking anyway.

I did 4.5 miles today, 45 minutes. It's not so bad at that pace. I am pretty tired now though - I could use some coffee, but they're all out, so I'll have to have some tea.

i was always wondering-- aren't you doing this on your lunch break at your work? I may be remembering totally wrong. i was just curious as to if they have full-facilities-- as it would seem kinda yuck to go back to work all sweaty lol. Otherwise I figured you were going to another gym on break.

What is everyone eating at this point? I know some were going more vegetarian, some were cutting portions, etc.

I am so close to being able to get some really good harvest out of my garden-- once that starts, I plan on more or less munching out of there. Right nwo i'm still doing my normal veggie eating, although on some things that he insists I eat with him (like cake) I am trying to just eat a small piece and really cut back on helpings of other things.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.
