Headphones...of course! Why didn't I think of that? Thanks, Amal!

I am also in love with fudgsicles so I'll give you guys your privacy as long as you give us ours. :hehe:

160+ for a full hour seems really high to me! I can only get above 170 at a full sprint. Though my resting pulse I know is somewhere close to 50, very low. All I know is that I sweat like a mofo!

I don't know what my problem is then. Maybe high blood pressure? Anyways... I went to the gym again today but my partner was tired so I only did 30 mins of cardio with her and then we left. That's alright tomorrow I do weights.

I was browsing online about heart rate and exercise a bit and it seems that heart rates really vary widely. In order to determine your level of fitness, what's important is how long it takes you to return to your resting heart rate after exercise.

You have a really strong heart!

Mine has gone caput as far as resting pulse. It used to be in the 60s and now I bet it's in the 70s. Suck.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Brought my 3 mile time down to 28:15 today! That's a 9:25 mile.

My next goal is to get it down to a 9:00 mile for 3 miles. I think that would be a reasonable pace for me. Once I get there I'm going to start increasing the distance, so 5 miles in 45 minutes will be my ultimate goal!

Just wanted to write that down...it helps me stick to it!

Hey where is everyone?

I'm here, I'm here...just had a crazy week. I wish I could do just 1 mile period but I was sentenced to no running about 15 years ago when I broke my pelvis. That is when my weight started piling on. I envy anybody who has the ability to run, sprint, jog, even walk long distances without much pain. Do an extra few minutes for me .. k? :)

Yesterday I was feeling blue and today I'm processing anger. Mom says it's the detox from eatting so healthy. I am so flipping angry I could really beat the hell out of someone or something.

Well, I can only share with you how amazing it feels to be able to run now. You should go back and read the whole thread from the beginning. The beginning, when I had trouble running 3 or 5 minutes without stopping. Every day it was a chore. I hated it, I thought I just hated running.

There were so many times when I thought I should just give up. Exercise was painful, not enjoyable in the least. Why was I doing it? Just to lose weight? I could do that even without exercise. If you cut your calories enough, then you can lose weight without even exercising.

In the beginning I would have trouble running even a short distance. Little by little I have worked my way up to running 3 miles at a steady pace without trouble now.

That's not to say it's not difficult. Sure, I would rather spend my lunch break browsing VJ. But once I'm down there, running, I feel like I am accomplishing something. I feel like I am prolonging my life. I feel alive.

I know it sounds kind of cliche and dumb, but it is SO worth it. You will feel better about yourself. Not just about your body, but about what you are able to accomplish, physically.

My weight loss has not been fast. I have lost 16, well now 18 I think, pounds in over 5 months. I have gotten so many compliments about how good I look. And I know it's not just because of the weight loss, but because of how I present myself as a result of it.

I put on a pair of capris today that didn't even really fit me well the day I bought them, probably 5 years ago.

Thank you to all who have participated in this thread. It has really helped me keep going, helped me to stay accountable. Here's to the last 8 pounds or so!
