how to get the green card to do after arriving in usa

hi everyone

i went through I-130 and get my visa in a year and now i have been here in usa for a month. please when and how i have to get my Green card and work permits? will they send it to me to the location where i m living now or what?

You should have a stamp on your passport indicating you are already a legal permanent resident. While waiting for your green card (which also serves as your work authorization), you can use that stamp to apply for work and travel. The actual green card will come anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

Most employers won't hire you unless you have a Social Security card. Since you've been here over a month then you should go to the SSA office to find out if they will be mailing you a card soon or if you have to file for one. This all depends on what you checked on the DS-230. Your green card should arrive in about 7 weeks after POE.

thanks for the responses you provided me with. I still want to know if i have to fill out any forms for getting my green card and work authorisation or that already done when i first filed i-130 and ds-230??? please i need to make sure thanks for your help
