Boy its been a long time since I've been here! I just have a quick question, because I'm suspecting an error on our case.

I'm the canadian wife of a US citizen, I moved here in 2005 on the K-1 visa along with my 10 year old daughter from a previous relationship. Got married, yada yada yada, and it comes time to apply for the removal of conditions. Filled out forms and paid fees, mailed off in the end of November.

we've received a letter addressed to me advising of a biometrics appointment scheduled for Jan 12.

We've also received a letter addressed to my husband (the US citizen) with a different WAC# advising him of HIS biometrics appointment scheduled for Jan 11.

We have NOT received one for my daughter as of yet, and these 2 letters showed up prior to christmas.

My question is, have they made an error? Since when does the US citizen need to go have their biometrics taken? 2 years ago it was just me and my daughter they wanted.

I've tried calling the mis-information line and cant get through, something about their systems being down

Anyone know what is going on here?

Sounds like they made a mistake to me!!! I have never heard of a US citizen being asked for their biometrics. I would try calling again later on in the day, or perhaps an infopass appointment.

Best of luck,

If the ASC is not too far a drive, perhaps you might consider taking your daughter along to your biometrics appointment. Just be sure to bring a copy of your extension letter too so that they can have a way of hooking up your daughter's biometrics with your I751 file.

thanks for the help guys :) I called and finally manouvered my way to a real person who told me that according to their files, the WAC number on the letter addressed to my husband is associated with my daughter, according to their records, and to bring her to the appointment for biometrics.

they also told me that my file is already approved????? I must be out of touch or something because I thought there was an interview at some point after the biometrics

Congratulations!

Interviews are rare for Removal of Conditions. So your approval without interview is par for the course. :)
