I'm not judging, just my P.O.V. I know there are lots that look better than me. I just would not give anyone the chance to ridicule me, thats why I wear a one-piece. Its more appropriate, didn't mean to offend anyone. (F)

Well, they don't exactly come in small sizes in Hawaii! Everywhere you look... fat people! I'm scared to look on the beaches around here... afraid my eyes will be damaged.

Afraid your eyes will be damaged? From what?

The terrible immages I would see!!! Scarring on my retinas!!!

Sorry, but some people just don't belong in speedos and bikinis!!! :o

LMAO, just becuase they make a bikini in size 16 doeesn't mean you should wear it. I'm not thin either, but I am very concious of my body image and wear what is appropriate. If that is what you meant then fine. If you meant overweight people don't belong on the beach then I have a handful of poo to fling at you.

I agree....I do think its good to wear what will best fit one's figure. But to judge a person solely by their figure is, in my humble opinion, a very shallow way of thinking. Not everyone is overweight because of McDonalds and all the other fast food places. Have you thought of that?

I'm not sure if that is directed at me or not...but I will reply. I have never once made a judgement on someone's weight except for my own. I don't think McDonald's is the reason for obesity either. I know there is a wide range of reasons people are the way they are. I think we are both in agreement about dressing appropriatly and on that note, I'd like to say that speedo's should be illegal regardless of size or weight. YUCK!

No...the word "you" was more of a general statement and not directed to any one person. I've been on the judgmental end of a few superficial shallow people in my time and it hurts terribly, especially since I have a medical condition that has greatly contributed to my weight. It just seems that some people cannot look beyond a person's figure to see the real person inside. That, to me, is just sad.

It ain't about judging people. But the first thing that I noticed when visiting the US for the first time back in 91 or so was: Whoa, I've never seen people this big. :o

Seriously, it was a shock at first. I got used to it over the years. Plus, what does one expect when people are afraid to walk an extra step (you know the fighting over the closer parking spot at the mall and stuff like that) and chew down the most ridiculous stuff for food (McD's et al)? It's gotta leave a mark somewhere.

My personal threshold (at 6'1") is 190lbs. Once I pass over that (and during the winter I tend to), it's salads, fruit, less beer and more exercise. I just dont feel comfortable being heavier than that. But that's just my personal preference. I know people that are fluffy or even chubby and they feel well that way. As long as one feels well, there ain't a thing wrong with having a few extra pounds. In fact, I like that better than those sickly skinny types. I dated women of the former group but none of the latter. Just thinking about touching a freaken skinned skeleton... *shudders*.

I think it was directed at me, and I am well aware obesity occurs for many reasons, as my younger sister has a medical condition. So let's not have anyone getting on a soap box here. I was trying to keep a very delicate subject on, no pun intended, the light side!!! ;):D

Joel and I always park a ways off from the front of the store or wherever we are...we enjoy the walk and we both know it's good for us. But you have to admit...there are those who DO judge a person by their weight. It's unfortunate too. Yes, there are some who want to park as close as they can or hate having to walk any distance at all. The medical condition I have makes it very hard to lose weight but not impossible. But I'm at the point in my life now that, if I never get down to what I'd like to be, I'm ok with that....my sweetheart loves me as I am. :)
