Well, as Krikit so elequently said earlier, there were many personal circumstances to consider, too many and too personal to go into on a message board of strangers....suffice to say our continuance on the K1 was not just based on a financial investment. And the wealth I've gained in finding my soulmate cannot be measured.

The responses I've gotten to what I thought was a general question amaze me, and were definately unexpected. In the future, I think I'll stick to reading posts, vs. writing them.

I hope you won't do that Amanda! While this thread did go off the rails at some point, it's an important discussion about the pros and cons of a K1 vs other visas. A lot of it doesn't apply in your situation - hence the off the rails - but I'm sure it will probably help someone else down the road.

The judgements were out of line, you did ask a straight forward question, who knew it would become a hot topic!

Anyway, it's easy for someone to be judgemental when we all now have a lot of information - which most of us did not have at that beginning.

I wish you lots of luck and keep on posting! :)

No, you're right....it IS a helpful discussion, with a few unnecessary threads.....and I admit I'm a raw nerve lately; we've been blessed with each other, but have also been through a lot lately outside of the immigration scope of things.....as my daughter says, it was an "emo moment"!!

Thanks for keeping me real, Trailmix!

Oh gosh, Amanda. Don't stop posting. I'm in agreement with Trailmix. It's important stuff. Sometimes you need adversity in order to bring out salient points. Try not to take it to heart. (F)

Yep....thanks to Krikit as well for the help and kind words.....
