Hello.

This is a strange question, but work with me on this one please.

A close friend of my wifes is very interested in meeting an American with the hope of a relationship, the men she has known in Russia do not seem to share the same qualities or expectations in life.. At this time she does not know which agencies to go through. Has anyone in Moscow met there spouse through a reputable agency or maybe one of the young ladies out there met your husband through an agency in Moscow that introduced you to him.

If you have the name, contact details etc, that would be most kind.

I have seen so many, but I have no idea what the steps are.

Thank you and Happy New Year.

David

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

Google search "Russian Brides"

But I would suggest sticking to some of the normal internet dating sites, like Cherry Blossoms, Match.com, etc, for some there are no fees to join.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

It seems all the agencies are tied together through networks for posting services David. It is more important to speak with someone for advice and only one person I unequivocally trust in Russia is Larisa Sofronova. Larisa is in Kazan but a good one for advice on where to go. You can find her contact information at http://www.about-russian-women.com/contact.shtml.

You probably already thought of this, but have you considered hooking someone you know up with her? That would be by far the cheapest route to go, and both your wife's friend and the man would know for sure they weren't being scammed.

Along the lines of the last post, why don't you and your wife act as her agency? Really, what does an agency do? You can advertise on dating sites if you wish. You will find most are free for women. You can collect mail, help interpret, and weed out the crazies for her. If she lives in Moscow an internet connection should not be a big problem. If not it still shouldn't be...

K1 Visa Process long ago and far away...

02/09/06 - NOA1 date

12/17/06 - Married!

AOS Process a fading memory...

01/31/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD package for Olga and Anya

06/01/07 - Green card arrived in mail

Removing Conditions

03/02/09 - Mailed I-751 package (CSC)

03/06/09 - Check cashed

03/10/09 - Recieved Olga's NOA1

03/28/09 - Olga did biometrics

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)

If she wants to do this, I would suggest using an independent site like bride.ru

She can have the email come through you first to weed out the one that would be a waste of time and you could forward real possible matches on to her.

At any rate, I would not have her wait for the guys to come to her, she should be contacting guys she might be interested in first, this is how my RW found me (smile)

I would avoid USA dating site because while many guys might be interested in flirting w/ a RW, I doubt many will take action... it's hard enough to find guys who will travel on the RW based sites, but I would think those are more likely to pan-out.

Post her info here, maybe one of us can find a match for her.

Sounds like a good idea considering about 1 out 5 or so of us on here will get taken for a ride by the lady he has now.

Just 1 in 5 Sat - You are such an optimist...

I would think either introducing her to someone you know who speaks Russian, or helping her set up personal ads on any of the US personal ad sites would work fine. How old is she? There are certainly a few Americans studying Russian - talking to them on the phone in exchange for speaking English is a good start for meeting people here.

But the best plan? If she wants to meet someone in the states, have her try to move here on her own. Depending one what she does, that is not impossible (Medical, Science or Engineering fields in particular).

But as you have already said, and Sat pointed out, she is looking to move here. Otherwise she wouldn't be about to marry someone she doesn't know.

I know Larisa Sofronova personally. She owns the agency «Master & Margarette». We are friendly competitiors as my fiancée and I operate «Club World Relations» in Kazan'. Larisa is a trustworthy person and I like her. She works primarily in partnership with high hit count sites such as Elena's Models and Anatasiya and focuses on translating letters. I would be happy to place your friend on our site if it would help. There is no charge to the ladies.

And I'll just go ahead and plug Club World Relations. I have spoken with the owner in PM's, and he frequents these forums quite a bit. Has a penchant for wearing funny hats, but otherwise a pretty decent guy. :D

(In all seriousness, check them out. They're a small outfit and will treat her right.)

If she's in Moscow, there are plenty of expat hangouts she could start going to more frequently. It doesn't take too long for most expats to "notice" a nice young lady.
