Change of Address

Hi everyone!! Happy New Year to you all!

I have a quick question. I will be moving from Pennsylvania to Virginia hopefully sometime within the next 6 months. We filed with VSC the last week of October and the move will not mean a change of service centers for us. So what I'm wondering is: If I have a change of address will this slow down our processing? Or is it simply an administrative thing? Any answers are greatly appreciated.

Just administrative. Make sure that your SO knows the new address bc that is something they ask in the interview. I would advise that if you move after you have your interview date, to wait until after the interview. Makes things a little easier during the interview. Unless you can prepare your SO with the new address and then there is no cunfusion. I hope that made sense.

Thanks for your response. The move will be based on a job I have accepted so I won't have much control over when I move. They'll tell me a start date and tell me to be there basically. Thank you for the information-all good to know!

It won't slow anything down. Just make sure the post office forwards your mail, and your address is updated with USCIS.

Depending on when the move happens with respect to "packet 3" and the interview, it might trigger a few "huh?" thoughts from the embassy, but shouldn't be an issue.
