Wow James and Miranda, how rude of you to say that no one but Christians can post in this thread and that you will ignore all the non believers. That is a fundamental reason why some religious people bug me, if you aren't one of them, you are ignored, or not worthy of talking to.

Don't worry. As we all know:

And the latter know who they are. ;)

That is a fundamental reason why some religious people bug me, if you aren't one of them, you are ignored, or not worthy of talking to. I don't bash Christians, or anyone of any religion but they sure bash us a lot. Your post is probably one reason this thread will get closed, I was mad when I read it. It was going nicely until you somehow pulled out of nowhere that no one but Christians can post in here and that we are somehow bashing people by stating we aren't Christians and saying what we believe.

I believe in God, but also believe in other stuff.

I agree with what ET posted about what we live for and a purpose. I guess I try to live to reward others, not live so I'm rewarded at the end.

You know Chicky....you are so right, when it comes to being judged. SOME...NOT ALL...are very judgmental. Those same Christians who professed to be such loving people were some of the very ones who judged me for leaving my abusive ex husband. They profess to love everyone, regardless of their place in life, yet when I leave a situation that was potentially dangerous I was looked upon (or down upon) by those same loving people. I'm intelligent enough to know that not all christians are this way, maybe its just the ones here in the South, but I tell ya...it didnt leave a good impression of "love" in my eyes.

But you know...they can judge me all they want. You won't ever hear me being judgmental about them, or negative about them or any other christian. Believe the way you want....leave me to believe the way I want. Right now, in this time of my life, all I want is to be married to my best friend and love of my life and live in PEACE. I am searching for my place in this world....if I think Christianity is the way for me, I'll be sure to come ask someone. :)

Maybe the OP meant it to be a free for all religious thread and get everyones views etc. But by asking how many 'CHRISTIANS' there are kind of limits it to one religious view in my opinion. They arent asking who is and isnt christians, theyre asking how many christians are there. I dont see how that can be aimed at anyone who isnt a Christian??

I agree that I don't think that the OP meant it to be a "free for all" with religious views. However, by the same token, answering "Yes I'm a Christian" or "No I'm not a Christian, I'm a (fill in the blank)" also shouldn't raise anyone's ire. Especially since for the most part, the people responding with "No" thus far haven't been sharing any of the fundaments or specifics of their belief system (unless asked specifically), or attacking Christianity or anyone else's beliefs (please note the general "live and let live" approach most have taken), and are merely answering what was asked.

My impression from the OP's first post was that they were interested in finding out who was a Christian here. By chiming and saying "not" the OP gets her answer...and can continue to commune with people whom she wants based on that answer. I don't think the OP meant this to become any sort of a problem, and frankly, until a couple of the Christian posts on here (Lily's at the beginning, yours, Ace13's which while understandable and a fair question, is going to open a lot of discussion which may not go so well), I don't think it would have been.

No one has attacked anyone for being Christian, unless you consider a person saying they're not a Christian is somehow an attack on your faith.

It's clearly been mislabled, then. Damn the lack of telepathic skills having to depend solely on the written word!

Very well said.

And, just for the record (and to stay true to the original question), my guess is:

136 Christians on Visa Journey.

ok, obviously crossed wires and confusion then. I certainly meant no offence and didnt mean to suggest that anyone not christian wasnt welcome in the company of christians! Thats not how I feel or what I believe at all.

Thats the nature of the internet and communicating through text messages i guess. People can get the wrong idea and impression so easily. Dont want to make enemies on here...

(when will I learn not to participate in religious discussions on the internet?)

For non-believers in God:

What is the meaning of life if you don't belive in a God? What is there to live for? I would struggle personally if I didn't believe in God. I would be so confused and without purpose. That is just me personally, of course. But if you don't believe, do you have any of those thoughts? Just wondering...

I can only speak for myself, but I treat this life possibly like you would treat life in heaven. I enjoy the wonders of it, try to minimize my burden on others, and work to increase the value I offer the world in the hopes of leaving it far richer for my existence.

Ok, I'm in the group hug, and giving the Christians extra squeezes.
