Exactly  It would avoid the kind of endless discussions that turn into fights we've seen here on VJ

Which is their good right.

It's all about tolerance and respect.

For non-believers in God:

What is the meaning of life if you don't belive in a God? What is there to live for? I would struggle personally if I didn't believe in God. I would be so confused and without purpose. That is just me personally, of course. But if you don't believe, do you have any of those thoughts? Just wondering...

I have tried really hard not to post my comments on this topic after watching the posts. The previous one really confuses me as it seems, to me at least, that this person does not realize that there are other religions out there. (but that is only from my perspective, and that is not an attack). I personally believe that religion is one of the most personal things you can have because it's your own personal beliefs that you hold dear. It is not anybody's business what my beliefs are, and nobody needs to know them... therefore I have nothing else to say.

(i hope that wasn't too harsh)

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

What is the meaning of life if you don't belive in a God? What is there to live for? Just wondering...

Well, I'd imagine that one's children is something to live for. To have a positive impact on the lives of people around you is something to live for. To try and understand how this universe or small parts thereof work is something to live for. Just to name three things out of a big ole' bucket of things to live for besides believing in one God or another... ;)

Harsh, no--I realy don't understand, though. I have my own beliefs, too--but I am interested in learning about others beliefs. What is so wrong with that? I am Christian--but I am interested in going to temple and learning about other faiths--it helps shape my own.

No one singled you out personally to tell s your deepest darkest secrets-GMAB

Why are there people posting in here saying they are 'Agnostic' or non believers??

Its very clearly stated this is a thread for CHRISTIAN people on VJ. NOT a thread to post about other religions and to bash religion/christianity.

What is it with some people (not naming names) and not being able to leave it alone.

Yes, I am a Christian (L)

I mean the afterlife-that is eternity--not just a few years on earth.

I realize family and such gives people great meaning--but not in a bigger picture sense.
