approval of 129F,

transfer of approved petition to NVC,

transfer of approved petition from NVC to embassy, and

I am asking Because I will be out of the coutry (visiting my fiance') when some of these events could occur. Thanks

You will receive an email notification (assuming you're set up for it on USCIS's site) for any NOA (Notice of Action)/I-797. You'll get an I-797 for the receipt of your petition, an RFE, a rejection and an approval. No I-797 specifically for sending the file to NVC because that is part of your Approval Notice - and none for movements to the embassy. Pretty much once you're approved (and you get that notice) that's all the email's you'll get.

Yep, good reply... But I never got email notifications of anything, and have seen a couple others this happened to as well. It's good to check periodically and not rely on getting the email.

From past experiences, I would not realy on e-mail or the site where u can sign up to chek for touches and all that. Niether were accurate for me. Our 129f still shows pending and we are AOS approved. Touches were wrong and missing. I wouldn't count on that info too much.

I agree...don't rely on email and site status too much. You will have to call them and speak to them live.

Here is a link to the u.s. embassey Kiev website so that you can stsrt to get ready as you will probubly have a 2 to 3 month wait for your interview. everything is here that you will need and that your fiance will need to have and do before your interview. and for what its worth if she doesent live in Kiev, try to make her physical the day before her interview. this worked out good for us. we found a very nice hotel for 100 a night which also had taxi service.

Here is some things she will be asked to bring to the interview I copy past for you... Hope this helps you and I wish you good luck

Your fiancé(e) will be asked to present:

Valid passports or travel documents for the beneficiary and any dependent children

A notarized statement from an absent parent giving permission to a child to immigrate to the US along with a photocopy of the photo and signature pages of his/her passport OR court decree of sole legal custody OR death certificate

Birth certificates for the beneficiary and any dependent children

Proof of termination of any prior marriages of both petitioner and beneficiary

Change of name certificates or marriage certificates

Police certificate(s) for the beneficiary and any dependent children over 16 years of age

Medical exam results for the beneficiary and any dependent children

Proof of adequate financial support once in the United States to ensure that your fiancé(e) and dependent children will not become public charges

Supporting documentation verifying the relationship between the petitioner and beneficiary

All the original documents must be accompanied by a copy and certified English translation.

I see that this thred is sort of old but I noticed that nobody had mentioned an Affidavit of Support, form I-134. I'm telling you this because the Affidavit is the only document you'll have to take care of while in the US because it must be notarized. By April, you'll have your 2007 tax return filed, so you'll have to make a copy of 1040 and bring it here as an evidence required for the Affidavit. With the rest, I hope you've already checked what she'll need for her interview. MOST of it she can get ready right here, in Ukraine. You'll have your passport with you, so you'll just photocopy its front page and the airport stamps from when you travelled. For the interview, my fiance has sent me detailed phone bills, too. You'd wanna take them with you unless you can print them out from Internet.

About the medical. I had it done a few days ago and I cannot say that the experience was not that pleasant. First of all, if you fiancee doesn't live in Kiev, she can surely schedule it a day before the intervies, just come early. It says that medicals are scheduled from 9am-12pm, so come at 9pm. There is a line, lots of people, lots of kids. For me, it took about five hours to register, complete all tests and get the resutls. The secret is that they don't really close at noon;you have to come in and register befor this time but the tests are done as soon as you're registered - even 1pm, 2pm.... Also, if she'll have a medican a day before the inteview, you guys make sure that you have everything else ready beforre that - all pictures taken and developed, all necessary documents photocopied, etc, etc... (The medical costs $100 by the way.)

It's still a bit early for you but you better be ready beforehand. I'd uploaded Information Paked from the embassy's website as soon as my fiance filed I-129F back in early September.

Good luck to you :):)

The I-134 can be notarized at any US Embassy or Consulate abroad.
