Background Check

Background checks can be a good thing especially since most times the USC has only spent a couple of weeks to a couple of months with the person in his country, therefore not really knowing that person, many times the person that you spend time with in their country ISN'T the personality that you meet at the airport once they arrive into USA.

For some once they figure the cost is clear and u have signed their adjustment papers things can become very unstable in your marriage, to the point that u just wish that person will go away and leave you alone, only to find that they r more then willing to give u your wish.

But at least if they perform a background check they may find out that the person that treated u so good when u were there in their country has a very shady background and that will spare some from a horrible marriage. So be patient, and let immigration do what they have to do.

I know it's now easy for me to say be patient especially since I feel that my ex. turned out to be the perfect con man.

Hope all is well with you. Girl if immigration could detect all the con men, that place would be overwhelmed with applications. Heck I would have completed one for my ex that is American. Talking about a snow job, he deserves an Oscar.

So if the USC has had a security check in the past it would potentially speed things up ? I wonder if some of those that move quicky through a service center have had a sercurity check done proir to their filing.

I had a interim clearance November 2006, that's was more than a year ago. Can't imagine if I had to go through AP. WE were approved 11/15 and received email from Lagos embassy that the packets were ready for Hakeem on 12/13.

Not sure if the interim clearance moved things along.

I called to find out the status of my case and they told me it was in administrative processing. Then I called again to get a definition of administrative processing because the first woman told me she couldn't tell me anything. This one told me it was a security check that is done randomly. The third and fourth time I called they said the same thing. So, I'm going with majority opinion since that's about all you can do when talking to the customer service reps.

I am so sorry to hear that you all have been waiting since 12/4 for your information to be forward to the appropriate embassy.

sigh ! security checks have nothing to do with the personality of the SO or marital discourse. They are not " marriage material " checks,

that check is up to us as petitioners and we have to be accountable for our choices in moving forward with a well by us investigated individual.

There are squeeky clean checks that turn out to be GC con men. Then there are people with smudges on their record who love their wives dearly.

Security checks are pertaining to National security and not if they will pack their suitcase and leave.

Be accountable and look to yourself and let up a little on the victim mentality. No one held a gun to your head to bring that man here.

Your obsession creeps into every post. Your happy New Year post speaks of deportation. Now your bitterness shows up in a thread about security

Sorry Idocare but it gets old, very old. I suggest a thread for just that purpose if you want to continue down the road of ' deport deport deport'.

Having said that, it is the home investigation by the embassy personnel that checks the integrity of the SO. Common in 3. world countries but

mostly embassy specific and not done in the developed countries.

Take responsibility for the choice you made.

Omoba, the checks r usually to check to see if the Alien of our dreams have some kind of criminal background or worse, although the alien may drink your dirty bath water the uscis have to protect America against extremist.

I read a thread that some of people that blew up the world trade center got here on visas from Americans also school visas, and visitors visa,

Most of us meet these men on the net and don't really know them . What we know is what they and their family tells us. If the goal is getting to America do you really think that they will tell u the negative side of this person when here sits his free ticket to America. Not all but many aliens want to come here, When I went to the American Embassy in Lagos it was packed with all kinds of people trying to get them a visa. From what I can tell many were denied more the approved. There are other country embassys within the same area as the American embassy and those other embassies didn't even have a line in front. Girl families are very proud when there siblings find a way to get here. That's why I support the background checks and any other kind of check they want to do.

As for my saying deport deport deport , my point is if the alien you brought here scams you, you should report it so that the immigration fraud unit can learn from you another scam that's permitting a scammer to get benefits. And yes for their efforts they should be deported.

Real love is just that, and u can work thru your problems, but someone using u for a benefit they otherwise aren't entittled to should be reported period.

Be for real with yourself.

Idocare,I do not know the struggles of your past marriage,nor do I claim to know what hurt you have been through.But this much I can tell you,you would heal faster from your pain if you learn to let go.Not for your ex-husband,but for your own wellbeing and humanity.This is a new year and what ought to be a new beginning for each soul.Reach out as best as you can to cut lose from this bitter episode,and move on.

As for your comment that the American Consulate in Lagos was packed full of Nigerians wanting to immigrate to the United States,might I explain a different possible reason?Nigerians have a tendency to travel where they already have faimly,kinsmen and friends.Thus,you may find the U.K.,German,and Irish embassies as wells as some others with unusually long lines of visa applicants.There may be other reasons,but people usually tend to emmigrate to geographical regions with historical migration ties to country and countrymen.And not every visa applicant was in line for a marriage visa.

Again,I pray that you may find healing for your pain.

It must be so frustrating that it's taken you so long!! too bad you got stuck in a silly random draw for security check Sooo annoying...............

I would recommend that you try contacting your congressman and/or senators!!!!! that's what they are there for!! They want your votes again, so they are there to serve you and assist you in any way they can!! Try googling phone # for your senators and congressman.... then call and tell them your situation! If they are any good, they will help you right away!! And I'm sure they can act on your behalf in ANY stage of the immigration process.... They initially returned my email with a phone call regarding assisting me in speeding up the process at USCIS for approval!!!! But once I explained I had just been approved, they proceeded to act on my behalf and communicate with the powers that be in every stage necessary, including the consolute abroad!!!

Idocare I am being real with myself in my life and in my posts.

We are talking apples and oranges and will never agree. So be it. That is real life.

All I am asking is for you to keep your revenge/deportation/bitterness posts contained to the appropriate topic and not

post them in happy, joyful milestone topics as you have done in the past or now in other topics where deportation discussion is not relevant.

Perhaps you can find a following in OT where you can devote your time to fraud issues and deportation. I don't think you will find the same passion here in sub-saharan, where most petitioners are waiting for their SO or the few that were hurt have moved on.

If I sound unkind, I don't mean to. I have over and over expressed my sympathy for your pain, as have others and you were advised to forgive and forget and to focus on your child and your own life.

I agree with Besanging on the child support suggestion, why would you not go that route to benefit your child ? You may never see a penny if he goes back.

We, who do not have our SO here yet also have enough pain to deal with and do not constantly want to read about bitterness, fraud and deportation. We get it and thanks for the warning but we do get it, really. We got it a long time ago.

However we are moving ahead towards our goal and find the same old deportation rally redundant.

Please show us some courtesy and sensitivity as we have shown you in the past.

Security checks and the black hole of AP are hard enough to get through without the negativity in the vast majority of your posts strewn into

every topic here......including your New Year wish.

I hope you understand what I am conveying here.
