Hiya guys, I'm on a K-1 Visa, and I got married on March 31st. I'm filing for AOS now. However, the stamp on my I-94 allowed me to stay on the country until April 2nd. Now I have no documents stating that I can stay legally in the country. What should I do?

Thanks

the 90 days are to get married, you may file for AOS after that and still be fine, try to get all your papers ready and file as soon as posible, if you got married i think you are ok

Panic not!

Mine ran out Jan 9th!

As long as you have filed your AOS or get it filed, there is no problem - this happens to everyone as the I-94 only covers 3 months.

Relax you are the same as the rest of us witing for a GC

Once you file, your status will be "adjustment applicant" which means you are in the country legally. Not to worry!

hi,

im from Philippines too. i arrived here last Jan. 19 as fiance using K-1 visa. we got married last april01, 2006. after that we filed AOS. but how long it will take?

then yesterday (april 19) we went to SS office to get Social security card. i bought all documents they needed but they said my I-94 was already expired (actully expired april 19 too). so they didn't give me SS card (cos we didn't know that).

what if i want to get SS card asap, is there any other way or documents so i can get SS card.

thanks.

reply me soon.

You will have to wait for your EAD to be able to get the social security card. Sorry. Once I-94 is within 14 days of expiration it is no longer valid for the purpose of obtaining an SSN.
