Question About Docs for the Interview

Dear All, Happy New Year!

I'm preparing the documents I need for my Medical Exam and the Interview (Feb. 8, 2008) and I tried to read some of the posts made by those who already had their Medical and Interview appointment. I read some things which have confused me a little bit. Your inputs would be valuable.

Okay here are my concerns:

1. I want to have the early Medical exam instead of my Feb.1 appointment, but I haven't received Packet 4 yet so I only have to rely on the printout of my sched from the Visa Appointment site. I have read in VJ that for those who want to undergo an early Medical Exam but Packet 4 is not received yet during the "planned" early Medical exam, the needed docs are just the printout of the medical and interview sched from Visa Appointment site, and 2x2 picture, NOA2 and a copy of NVC Letter. Now, I'm wondering if they will just accept a scanned copy of the NVC Letter. My fiancé just received the letter last Dec. 17 from NVC and it would take a couple of weeks to have it on hand if I'll ask him to send it. So what I plan is that I'll just ask him to scan it and send it to me by email then I’ll have it printed. Will this be acceptable at SLEC?

2. Since I plan for an early Medical Exam, do I need to call SLEC for Packet 4 pickup or just wait for packet delivery at home, and then have the early medical as what I have planned in #1?

3. And about the Police Clearance, I have never lived outside the country and so I only have to get a police clearance here in the Philippines. But what confuses me is that, do I need to get a police clearance from every province or city I had/have lived in? I had read one post here in VJ wherein she obtained 2 police clearances, one from her province and another one from the city she presently lives in. Do I really need to do that? My province is in Leyte, had lived in Manila for a year, then presently living here in Cebu.

4. Lastly, do I need to secure Baptismal Certificate and school records from elementary and high school? I already have my TOR in college. I don’t have problems with my Birth Certificate and I already have the NSO copy as well as the copy issued from the Civil Registrar. So, am I correct to “assume” I don’t need Baptismal Cert. as well as the school records from elementary and high school?

I would really welcome your inputs and comments.

Thank you very much and good luck to us all!!!

Sha

1. Yes, a scanned and e-mailed copy will work and with your appointment schedule from the embassy site. You'll also need 2 passport size photos and your passport and of course, the money.

2. You can call for packet pickup, but if your husband received his 12-17, yours is probably on the way from the embassy. My wife lives in Manila and received hers about 10 days after I had my copy.

3. You only need an original NBI police clearance as all record in the Philippines are centralized. You've already listed previous addresses on the DS-230.

4. No, you don't need those other proofs as long as you have a birth certificate.

5. You will need to pay the new document verification fee at least 2 weeks before your interview to avoid your visa being delayed A lot of good information about the interview is here: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3219.html
