When we go to the Biometrics appointment for my wife, they need our passport for identification.

The appointment letter is in the New Name that we wanted, however the passport does not reflect the new last name yet. The passport has her maiden name.

Hope this is not a problem for both entry into the building as well as for biometrics officials ? Please let me know.

Thanks.

Well...I applied for GC in my married name and I have my passport in my maiden name. I'm just going to take my marriage certificate with me. I don't believe that will be a problem

hey...the USC doesn't HAVE to be present for biometrics does he? Mine is working that day!

When i went for my biometrics i took my marriage certificate - as at the time i didnt have my state id...- i took ALL my paperwork ( just in case) but absolutely take the marriage certificate as the guy actually taking the prints wouldnt proceed without first showing my marriage certificate - if you have your state id take that too just in case.

As for USC being present - i took mine but he wasnt required ( except for moral support) and he sat out in the waiting room all the time ...the procedure itself was pain free and probably took approx 30 mins in total. There's a bit of form filling too....it is useful to take your SSN as the form asks for it.

Good Luck.

Thank you very much for your answer. That's why I thought but wasn't sure :) I can present them my father in law as he is the one that will be driving me ;)

Definitely bring your Marriage Certificate if your id doesn't match. One girl in line ahead of me did not have hers. She got sent home to get it since they wouldn't let her in without it. :(

I'd say not to bring your USC. In Atlanta, where I went for my biometrics, they weren't let in and had to wait outside in the rain for 45 min despite plenty of available seats inside.

That's kind of odd.......
