check to see if you have a Womens Humane society in your area. I took my cat to the one in our area and they were much cheaper than a regular vet. Same with the vaccinations.

Just an idea that could save you some cash.

Many vets will also take instalments for payment rather than a lump sum at the time of treatment. It's worth checking into. Either that or Mr Plastic is often a good friend. :D

There's some program we did it through...where you go through a Friends of Animals (is that the name of the organization?) approved vet and you can get it for a reduced price (usually around 65 or so). That could be a partial reimbursement thing, too, though.

A female kitten's bottom will look like an upside down exclamation point.... !

A male kiltten's bottom will like like this....... :

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Luzy - here is the link for Friends of Animals : http://www.friendsofanimals.org/programs/s...uter/index.html

It looks like you bring it with you to the vet appointment (they email you a list of approved vets).

It's 65 dollars for female cats. The cost for male cats is 51 through them.

You have to contact the vet's office you want to take them too and see if there are any additional charges before purchasing the certificate online. It should still be a lot better than 185 dollars!

The kitty play looks like typical cat-wrestling... but I agree with everyone else. If he's old enough that you can start to see that he's a male cat, he's old enough that pretty soon he's going to realise it and get his sissifur into trouble! (not to mention spraying, roaming, and getting territorial in general...)

Well if you didn't find out from his "stretching" then you'd find out when he marks his territory  . At that age I'd imagine the urge to mark his territory would be starting to show up if it didn't already. Cat urine is a smell that I'll never forget after the neighbours cat thought it was a nice idea to come piss all over our laundry room :hehe:

We have two cats, both male and both are fixed. The "fix" I believe is quick, easy and fairly inexpensive compared to fixing a female cat.

About half the cost in my area. Get it done before he decides to pee on your furniture, Luzy!
