well...if a USC is in a foreign country, he/she has to contact the embassy from what I know. They should be able to issue him/her a new passport

we are hesistant to tell the philippine immigration as we might have trouble in future, and besides

the main question here is how much is extension fee and both parties dont have enough

funds im afraid this would result of me and my spouse not see each other FOREVER especially

our baby.im scared that my visa will be abrupt as we are almost in finish line.

can i apply our immediate relative in the states to be my joint sponsor as he failed to file tax within a year and a half being with me? HELP :crying:

I wish I could give you an advice but I don't know what to say. I do, however, believe that you don't have a choice but let the authorities know that the passport is lost.

I hope other people will be able to let you know more about the co-sponsoring.

People...can someone suggest anything? These people seem to be in a really bad spot right now!!!!!

Suggestions?

The joint sponsor must be a U.S. Citizen, if your relative is one, then they can be.

Your Husband will need to contact the nearest consulate/Embassy for his country and get a new passport.

Good luck to you and try to remain calm, take a deep breath and relax, one way or another this will get sorted out

If i'm understanding the passport question correctly your Husband lost his U.S. passport? I'm a bit confused as to who is the U.S. citizen here?

Regardless, even if he is the beneficiary, you have no choice but for him to go and report the passport lost and get a new passport - no passport = no visa.

Good luck to you

I think the USC is the one that lost the passport...because he's referred to as "sponsor"

i mean he lost his passport during his stay here in my country. do you think will it be a problem if we request for new passport? my only fear is my country might look for the extension fees, we lost the receipts already and now we owe them almost a year and a half now. ;( and we dont have funds to pay i cant even ask the immigration as they might do something to him and might abrupt the application :crying:

Getting the new passport won't be a problem. I'm guessing you think he will have to notify the authorities in your country as he lost the passport that contained his tourist visa, he is behind on the fees and they will ask him to pay them and you don't have the money for that right now?

What you should do is perhaps call them and find out for sure. If he has to go and see them - well he has to, maybe they will just give him a new visa, perhaps the U.S. embassy might offer him some guidance.

Anyway, no use worrying until you have checked all this out, get the facts then you will know what is what. Let us know how it goes.

The U.S. Consulate can issue a new passport. Tax forms are going to have to be filed since they want to see those at the interview. The forms can be downloaded at www.irs.gov As for the Philippine visa fees, he is well over their 6 month limit so you sholuld probably call the Philippine immigratiion dept. on that. If you have another U.S. citizen to sponsor you, I think you're going to need them since they are looking for financial responsiblility so that you don't need to be supported by U.S. taxpayers after you are there. I think you're going to have to get things in shape in a hurry if you want to be approved at your interview.

I totally agree...There is really no point in hiding things because you just can't move on otherwise.
