PS: Hope you'd still be around for more SSN questions (F) [/b] [/color]

Sure, you can expect plenty more government mumbo gumbo. LOL I really haven't needed to ever be here, since the AOS had been completed by the time I signed up here and I knew what to do with the removal of conditions and N-400 from my years of reading the visa-marriage newsgroup.

Thanks God for that MDYoung. I surely would need more of that mumbo gumbo things as soon as I get my GC and off to war no.2 with the SSA. Thank you! :D

Wife was sworn in as a citizen at around noon today. The time listed on the notice was 11:00 a.m., so we got there around 10:30 a.m. We are told to go into the room where everyone that has an INFOPASS appointment is sitting by the guard. Do we wait for an announcement or what I asked, just go have a seat (Nothing like that friendly USCIS service). So around 11:10 a.m. a guy comes in the room to tell everyone here for the Naturlization ceremony to get in a single file line and we are heading to a room on the 7th floor. I guess it would make too much sense to just tell you to go there in the first place.

One thing we notice is just about everyone has a camera except us. Notice made no mention of cameras being allowed and big sign at door where you come into the building "No Cameras Allowed." I made sure I pointed that out to woman running things once ceremony was over.

Since we both took off the whole day from work I figured it would be a good time to update the wife's SSN record to show she's now a citizen. Guy taking the application tried tell us that he had to send the G-845 since SAVE didn't have the wife's middle name. I had to explain the procedure that you don't verify for a missing middle name and you don't verify a Naturlization certificate unless you think it's a fake. Bottom line wife will be getting new card within two weeks, even though I told the guy she doesn't need a card, just the SSN record updated. I figured it wasn't worth the trouble and we left with application receipt in hand.

So 4 years 6 months later our visa journey is offically over.

Well congrats of course! Have you decided how to addresses duel citizenship? I plan on Marilyn getting US citizenship when the time comes as I don't want to even deal with the USCIS every 10 years. I know Marilyn will want to keep Philippine citizenship as well. Have you looked into this? Take care,

Marilyn and Peter.

She was asked what I think is the hardest question and that's name the 13 original states.

So much for the rumor that they had droped that question... it *is* the hardest for most people! Strangly enough, from when I was a kid, my dad used to use the 13 original colonies (AND the order in which they joined the Union) as a memory demonstration and I can rattle them off in my sleep. I *think* I showed it to the DAH properly.. fingers crossed!

What happens if get any wrong answers lol is one up sh!itters ditch and fail......damm I hadnt even thought about having to know more then what most USC probably know lol

Congrats to your wife md

That's fantastic!!! Must be a great feeling...huge congratulations to your wife!!! :) :) :) M.

There are people that fail the citizenship test. So, I am guessing that the reason they failed is because they got one, or several, of the questions wrong. You would have to apply again.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Congratulations that is great news.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.
