2009: Conditional GC Expired and Husband has been having affairs since 2008 in China. Can't file for ROC since he got laid off. He came to Jakarta to live with me and my parents. He got a new job. Life resume to normal or so I thought.
March 2010: Officially separated after yet more affairs exposed just a day after my birthday!

February 2011: Officially divorced.
June 18, 2011: He married the girl he had the last affair with.

August 2014: I am engaged with my real soulmate. Not an American.

Can you tell me how the interview went? I am up for mine on the 5th June. I am a little nervous about the civics questions and whether it is just a matter of learning the answers to the 100 questions on the USCIS site or whether there is something I have missed.

If it wasn't for them waiting on background checks, was there an option for her to take her Oath that day?

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

ha ha! I'm getting SICK of those questions! We're drilling all the time now, nothing like a boy scout (always prepared). ;)

From what my wife said the interview wasn't any big deal. The officer just reviewed the N-400 with her. The officer looked at her passport, since I decided it was best to just answer the questions about time outside the U.S. based on the 5 years the form asked, even though the application eligiblity was based on three years. So the answers she provided showed time outside the U.S., but it was all before she arrived as a K-1.

She was asked 10 questions out of the 100 and had her read and write a sentence in English. She was asked what I think is the hardest question and that's name the 13 original states. The interview lasted maybe 20 minutes.

Not sure if she could have been sworn in if everything had been completed at the time of the interview, since it wasn't going to happen I never bothered to ask.

Sure, you can expect plenty more government mumbo gumbo. LOL I really haven't needed to ever be here, since the AOS had been completed by the time I signed up here and I knew what to do with the removal of conditions and N-400 from my years of reading the visa-marriage newsgroup.

So much for the rumor that they had droped that question... it *is* the hardest for most people! Strangly enough, from when I was a kid, my dad used to use the 13 original colonies (AND the order in which they joined the Union) as a memory demonstration and I can rattle them off in my sleep. I *think* I showed it to the DAH properly.. fingers crossed!
