Eek! So not only do her family oppose your relationship (or perhaps they don't even know, but want her to marry someone they consider to be more suitable?) but they would actively block her from leaving the country.

This is a tricky situation... does she have any friends that she could stay with? Preferably respectable, professional types who would be supportive and who her family could not make false accusations against (if they might be inclined to do so). As an adult she should be able to move around as she wishes, but I understand that it can be very difficult for young women in some social settings as they may claim that she is not of sound mind and then keep her locked in the house - all of which they would doubtless think is for her own good.

It would be much better if you could obtain their blessing (although I realise that may be impossible) as I think this could potentially cause serious problems for you both.

am trying to get ahold of UAE embassy law dept. in washington dc

have talked to Dubai police on several occasions hinting at the problem.....they are acting like we will be ok since she is 21......but she doesnt trust them

we have discussed moving her out of country......but we run into residence requirements or the alternate country is too dangerous for me.

she has to sneak around at this point.....just gettin to a post office box is difficult.

it makes me laugh when people say she is just coming for green card......

Oh denny01...I hope and pray that things go better for you guys. How tragic that there has to be all of this sneaking around. Let us know how things pan out, and if you get some response from embassy or law department in Washington.
