To get started with the I-129F, my foreign fiance only needs to send me a passport photo, the G325A, and the letter of intent. Is there anything else he needs to send me before I can get started? I'll be out of town this week for work and wanted to send him all the info before I left so that when I got back I could get the ball rolling. Just wanted to double check with you guys!

Thanks!

If she has never been married before, then yes that is all. If so, you need a copy of the divorce decree. If she has minor children you need a passport style photo of them. Also there is some information on the I-129F form itself that you want to be sure and get from your fiance. It may be handy to just have them fill in 'thier half' of the form and send it to you.

K1 Visa Process long ago and far away...

02/09/06 - NOA1 date

12/17/06 - Married!

AOS Process a fading memory...

01/31/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD package for Olga and Anya

06/01/07 - Green card arrived in mail

Removing Conditions

03/02/09 - Mailed I-751 package (CSC)

03/06/09 - Check cashed

03/10/09 - Recieved Olga's NOA1

03/28/09 - Olga did biometrics

05/11/09 - Anya recieved NOA1 (took a call to USCIS to take care of it, oddly, they were helpful)

well i had my fiancee send me as well his birth certificate a copy of his current passport a copy of his current divers license and a copy of his id well there is never to much information so i did what ever i could do and the letter of intent plus the two pictures plus the bio .

i had all my information together i did my package like this

1) Check made out to USCIS

2) Our letter how we met etc

3) the I 129 F

4) Our pictures together with his family etc

then i made a separate folder with all my information and then with his information and then finnaly

all the evidence of our ongoing relationship .

I send in all copys even letter of intent i made copys of and got them noterized so in case they loose something i have the entire original documents .

I made sure every paper was noterized though thats almost same as sending the original documents i didnt wonna risk an RFE and i dont have the informationen anymore so i did what i had to do .

Just make sure you back yourself up at all times for me it was easy to get everything noterized because one of my close friends did it for me with no problems i gave her both packages the original and the copys and she had no problem noterizing all of them for me .

I meen i went to the extreme i even had the copys of phonebills airline tickets and all that stuff noterized which i know its not really nesassary but i did .

I wanted to be sure i got it all done correctly .

I know that all sounds crazy but yes I am crazy what can i do .

I wish you the best and if you have any questions please feel free to ask at any time .

If she has minor children you need a passport style photo of them.

This is news to me.

Here's what I sent for my I-129F:

- Payment in the amount of $170

- I-129F

- I-129F Supplement Part B, Question 18, Explanation of meeting in person

- G-325A and passport style photo(Petitioner)

- G-325A and passport style photo(Beneficiary)

- Birth Certificate(Petitioner)

- Divorce Certificate(Beneficiary)

- Letter certifying intent to marry(Petitioner and Beneficiary)

- Proof of having met in person in the past 2 years*

* I sent copies of plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel receipts, atm withdrawls, and credit card purchase receipts.

There has been ongoing discussions on this site on whether sending "too much" information can actually hurt you. I origninally was going to send everything I had with the I-129F, but then I decided to send only the above information that was asked for.

I sent NO evidence of our ongoing relationship. I'm saving that for the interview. It was 3 business days between my NOA1 and NOA2.

Nowhere does it indicate photos of children are required.

1. Payment as documented here. Use a personal check so you can track the payment.

2. Cover Letter (see example). Should include a description of what your are petitioning for (I-129F), a table of contents (list everything in the packet). If you need additional room to explain your case, attach a separate sheet (list the attachment on the cover sheet). Make sure to sign and date the cover sheet.

3. Form I-129F: Petition for Alien Fiance(e) (see example)

4. Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page regarding question 19 of the I-129F. Make sure to sign and date it.

5. Letters (from both the US Citizen and foreign fiance) certifying an intent to marry within 90 days of entering the US on a valid K-1. (see example)

6. Proof of having met in past two years. (click here for examples)

7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated (see example)

8. One passport-type photo (see note) of the US Citizen. Write the full name of the US citizen on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <Insert US Citizen's Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

9. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the foreign fiance(e) signed and dated (see example)

10. One passport-type photo (see note) of the foreign fiance(e). Write the full name of the foreign fiance(e) on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of (insert foreign fiance(e) name) ". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

11. Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport or a copy of a naturalization certificate. This is used to establish citizenship.

12. Copy of Divorce Decree(s) or Certificate(s) for the US Citizen and/or foreign fiance(e) if either has been previously married.

That's awesome Rick. I have copied and pasted your info into a word doc. and am going to use it as my checklist when I finally get to send this out. I'm in the process of moving and don't want to send it off until I'm set at my new place with the new address. I didn't want to add a change of address to the mix. Thanks again.

I wouldn't use any one person's post in here as a checklist. There is a wealth of knowledge on this site and many experienced people to help you. Be sure to read the guides here. There is a much more detailed explanation on how to assemble the package.

Good luck on your journey!!
