Wow. When did you first file? If you fill in your timeline it will help others to understand your case. I'm so sorry though that you are going through this long AP with no end in sight. It is the most frustrating thing in the world especially when it seems that they've just come to a full stop with no movement at all in some cases.

We are in AP now for 5 months and no end in site either. I finally heard back from my congressman's office a few days ago only to find that they got the following response from Cairo:

Dear Congressman XXXXX:

I am writing in reference to your e-mail message dated December 12, 2007, concerning the non-immigrant (K3) visa case of Mr. XXXXX, the husband of your constituent, Ms. Bridget XXXXX, case number CROXXXXXXXX.

Mr. xxxx’s application is currently undergoing required administrative processing. The time needed to review individual cases is difficult to predict. Visa applicants affected by these procedures are informed of the need for additional processing at the time of interview. As soon as the processing is complete, we will contact Mr. xxxxxx to notify him of the next step in his case.

I hope this information is helpful in responding to your constituent’s inquiry. If I can be of further assistance in any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at ConsCongCairo@state.gov.

Sincerely,

David D. Potter

Acting Consul General

What's disturbing to me is the term "next step in his case". #######. Shouldn't the next step be to get the frikkin' visa???? Also what's with the title of "acting" consul general? Whenever I've seen the term "acting" in any business it normally tells me that the previous person having that title is now gone and they're in the midst of finding someone new. I wonder if they're going through yet another change in the Consulate and perhaps that is why so many of us are being strung along for months on end with no answers.
