Got my packet 4 today from Montreal!! Finally!!! They've scheduled my interview for June 20. That's my son's birthday! A lucky day! I can't tell you all how thrilled I am!!!!!!! Judge by the number of !!!! in this message!!!!! :) :) :)

Hi all !

There are so many places to post complaints about Montreal, I can't follow them all, but would like to let you know I got packet 4 yesterday and have an interview date for June 16. Thanks to all the phoners who kept us updated and the poo flingers that moved them along. My brother refers to it as the lottery and I think he's right - there's no pattern as to why some people are still waiting, and why some are processed so much more quickly, and why interview dates don't even seem to correspond to the date the packet 3 was sent in.

Now my next step is to find and book a hotel in Montreal!

Hi all !

It's pretty evident that the interview assignment is not a "first in first out" affair. I mean, there are people who sent in their packet 3's back in February who haven't got their interview dates yet. Another example: they received our packet 3 two weeks before they got yours. We got our interview date on Tuesday, which was June 20. You got your interview date today, and it is June 16.

So who knows? It's basically a lottery. You throw your hat in the ring and hope you get good results.

Yeah, I would love to know how they do it. I was really surprised how quick the first step was, and its been fast since then, relatively. I wonder if anyone keeps any stats here with anything more than what service centre, country of origin etc that we normally see. I would be interested to see if level of education or profession, ethnic profiling, anything really has to do with the length of time it takes. Or something besides it was on the desk and got accidentally knocked into the out basket.
