Joel I sure wish I knew why I was still waiting. But like someone said it's the government and no matter what country your from government never changes they do things their way in their own time and there isn't a thing anyone can do to change it. Just accept it and move on or you'll be in the same place I was a few weeks ago and it's not of any benefit to yourself or your sweetie. Why destroy the one thing you are working so hard for by being depressed and nasty because of some government idiots.

Yup I certainly agree. Nothing you can do but wait and do what these people ask you to do. there just has to be an easier and better way of doing all of this. the family immigration process needs a makeover.

Hello there, I feel your pain. We've been there, done that...............I had my Montreal Interview April 5 (APPROVED...........painless once you're there!) I sent my checklist in Feb 3, called them March 3 and was told my Interview was scheduled for April 5.............pretty good.

I am now living in Maine with the love of my life........getting married May 16...........then the AOS starts..... which bothers me because my baby daughter is having her first baby in August (she says she's not having it without me  ) So the thought that I can't go back to Canada because my AP won't be ready kills me...........I really don't understand this part of the process. I feel like a criminal waiting for Advance Parole!!! If somebody can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.......

Good luck and yes....the waiting sucks.....................(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Now I'm REALLY depressed. I made my bi-weekly call to Montreal today and got a very nasty operator who told me that I'm still on the waiting list, and that there was nothing else she could tell me.

Sigh....I can't believe how slow things have gotten to in MTL. Surely y'all should have heard something by now....*hugs* for you both....maybe by calling often and much they will get the hint, eh?

don't get depressed gsmaclean!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not at this stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;o)

you guys are sooooooooooooooo close now, no point of getting pissed off by some morons that are responsible for the interview scheduling..............

btw, I never called Montreal, not even once, I don't think I will.....

it pisses me off too  the fact that they're so disorganized, that they don't FEEL for all of us, but hey, life goes on, soon you're gonna be with your fiancee and you're gonna live happily ever after! ;o)

don't worry - there's no point, especially that there's nothing you can do personally to speed up the process.....

Cheer up man!

peace

I'm sure u could say they are disorganized, but I'm sure like any other governement agency they are short staffed. Staff at the consulate were all great and professional when I was there. Well except for 1 grumpy lady, lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I called Montreal only once. I sent an email two days before but after not getting an answer, I decided to call. The lady was professional and not rude (didn't sound too happy though) but answered my question.

It sure is crappy that there is only 1 consulate that a huge number of Canadians have to use. I can see how they slow down in th summer, but if it is slowing down now, we are all in a heap of trouble.

this is usual? the petitioner getting notification first? does seem weird. and not very efficient. i mean heck, they look at the file, know they are going to schedule an interview and 1st send a letter to the petitioner one week, then leave it for another week or so before scheduling the interview and notifying the beneficiary? <sigh> governments. they'd never make it in the corporate world.

Just a question, regarding the long waits for a Montreal interview lately... is anyone else waiting for an interview for CR1? It seems like almost everyone else here is waiting on a K visa, and I was just wondering -- should I be expecting to wait even LONGER, or are we all in the same boat at Montreal? Our case was completed in early February - they have everything they need from us - but we're still waiting to hear (something, anything) about the interview.
