Hey guys ... I'm petitioning for my wife (well, in like 8 days my wife lol) as soon as I return from my wedding in India. I don't think I can do DCF ... I'd love to, but that's neither here nor there ...

ANYWAY - My question is that I have passport photos taken for the forms already ... I wear a turban daily as it is part of my religion (Sikhism) ... I renewed my passport this past summer and remember submitting a note/statement explaining that the turban is worn by me on a daily basis and is the photo is an accurate representation of how I look on a daily basis ...

Now my question is - do I submit a similar letter for the visa petition? The reason I'm thinking so much about it is that I keep hearing that I should abide by good ol' K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, stupid) ... SO I don't want to do anything to confuse the people who look at my packet ...

I was wondering if I should copy the first page of my passport to prove my point along with a note or copy my work ID for the same reason ... I don't want to confuse them and get an RFE for not submitting ALL pages of the passport - because I'm using my naturalization certificate for proof of citizenship, not my passport ... But I don't trust them to make that logical distinction lol

I also plan to have copies of photos from the wedding ceremony included in the packet, so they will see me wearing a turban in whatever other pics they have ...

CONFUSEDDDDDDDDDDDD :(

The state department website specifically explains that head covers worn for religious reasons are OK, my wifey had the same issues.

I wear a head scarf on a daily basis and I sent in the passport photos with no explanation. We did not have any issues.

Thank you both for your input -- my only concern was that having a turban covers my ears, which may be 'more of an issue' than a headscarf ... I can breathe a bit easier but still confused ...

I have to find out where you got yours taken cuz my fiancee got ripped off lol ... I already have my pics so I'm not worried about getting them taken - I was just wondering how I should clarify the fact that I'm wearing a turban ... In the end I've decided that I'll attach the plastic bag to a piece of paper and at the bottom of the page I have already typed the following:

"PASSPORT STYLE PHOTO OF **** **** (PETITIONER)

Please note that my head covering, known as a turban, is required by my religion – Sikhism.

I hereby attest that the photo is an accurate representation of my appearance on any given

day."

I'll just sign below that (I've left a space for signature) and I have my name typed out below the space for my sig. as well ...
