:help:

Merry Christmas to you,

Hey I was just wondering how to do this the best way I can.

We have now received our Packet 3 from london, and I believe we have everything we need execpt one thing ;

A marriage certificate from a previous marriage to a woman in texas. I have the divorce certificate but no marriage one. (will this cause problems do you think?)

We are ready to send back the packet three however I need to get the interview before February as we have an apartment booked for then already.

How do you word your statement saying you wanted it early, do you send it to any special department or address, and is there any special number you can call to talk to someone about an early appointment?

I called the £1-25 per minute number but they wouldn't give me any help really.

Any thing you could tell us would be much appreciated.

Merry Christmas

Andrew & Robin

i dont see why u would need ur marriege certificate. they are only concerned that ur divorsed. u have that. ur proof of being married to the woman in texas is your divorse decree right? u just have to prove u r divorsed. so i dont think that will complicate things.

The only thing you can do is put your anticipated moving date on the forms in the spot where it asks for them and hope that you are allotted a date before February.

I will warn you, though - they have started scheduling February dates, and it's not likely that you'll get a January one.

A lot of people have reasons for wanting early interviews but they all just have to wait in line like everyone else. There's a space on the sheet that you send back with Packet 3 which asks you what date you are planning on travelling so fill that in and see if they offer you an interview early enough. There is a warning on Packet 3 advising people not to make any plans until you actually get the visa so I'm not sure if they'll be sympathetic or not.

To give you an idea of how things are going at the London Embassy I sent my Packet 3 back on December 6th and have been eligible for interview since December 12th but I haven't heard anything yet. Probably best not to make any firm plans but keep your fingers crossed that you get lucky.

Are you the beneficiary or the petitioner?

If you are the beneficiary, Packet 3 does specifically request any prior marriage certificates. If you are the petitioner, don't bother. The documents at this point are all about the beneficiary.

Regarding your need for an early interview, as has been pointed out, you can enter travel dates on the checklist, but there are no guarantees.

Good luck!

Wait in line like the rest of us buddy!

Ha ha ha your a card !! First of all I have been waiting long enough to justify asking a simple question about how to do things as quick as possible! This is not about 'jumping the queue' as I have already been waiting since April 2007.

The point of these forums and the people on it is to give advice on how to this the quickest way possible and correctly.

There is no need to be rude.

To the others who offered helpful advice, many thanks and the reason I am asking is because we have been put back sooooo long that unfortunately, due to our personal circumstances we enetered into an apartment agreement which starts on February 6th 2008 and will cost us $2790 (don't ask why) on that date, so it would be nice to actually be there to use it. If we pull out now we would have no where to live.

Thanks again for all the good advice.

Is there no way that the agreement could start as planned in February, with you moving in after the visa has been granted? Although you would not have the immediate benefit of living in the apartment, and you would be out at least one month's rent, it would at least be waiting for you when you could come over and you would not need to pull out. Surely your landlord is more interested in getting his/her rent than if you are in actual habitation!

Just a thought...

Yeah we can do that, however as is probably the case in most people's circumstances, I do not have a job in the US until I get there and can look for one.

And unfortunately my savings are finite, we have budgeted for about two months without any income being available as my fiance does not work. Therefore we must be in the apartment in order to be looking for work while our savings are dwindling.

If I don't have a job by April, then we don't eat, simple as that really, now while I could pay for february and at least have a place to stay like you say, this is cutting down on the 'looking for work ' time.

But it is a valid point thankyou. Don't suppose anyone reading this is an accountant in Tampa FLA who could offer a poor guy a job ?? ? anyone ? :D

thats awesome !! CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations Dazzler, btw I would definately give them a call and explain that you may not have your interview letter and what they think about it, but other than that if you can't get them on the phone etc I would definately turn up and bring a copy of the email with you that you sent as a reference.

With your LND number they must have a list of appointments for that day before entry into the embassy.

Good luck !!! and thankyou for the information
