New processing times - is the USCIS lying?

Got my 1 year extension stamp today at the Chicago USCIS office. They wanted to see my travel itenerary, but gave me my expired Greencard and extension letter back 'unharmed' I'm good to go for my trip - yeah.

Two recent lists recombined, also some details added like jennybrigitta's stamp etc. Many of us have received notices about a transfer of our applications from NSC to presumingly CSC, including me. I haven't added that information, because it is so common; I hope it will accelerate our adjucation.

Wait, you need to have a travel itinerary to get an extension stamp? I have no plans to travel anywhere but have an appt in Chicago to get an extension stamp next week. Will this be denied to me?

I didn't have any travel plans when I got my extension stamp. The USCIS officer asked me, however, after my passport was stamped and before it was handed to me if I was planning to travel. I answered No, but added that I need the stamp to get into some ITAR facilities of my company.

I went to the office close to the end of my written proof of residentship (actually I went the first business day afterwards), to make it more difficult for them to deny the stamp with the explanation that the card might come before the extension letter expired. I had read through the memorandum at least twice (check the memo attached to this thread), and I was prepared for their questions, because the memo mentioned the need for job and travel. It doesn't mention documents needed to show the need, but, if asked, you should answer something along the lines that you are looking at another job or at some travel plans - you should actually look on a job or a travel plan for that, but you don't have to go through with it. Be self-confident when speaking to them but not aggressive and ask for a supervisor if they deny a 12 months stamp. They have delayed the process, and you shouldn't be forced to get to their district office for another year.

I got an email today that I was approved There seems to a bunch of us happy guys today - hi dee. I am especially happy, because we will move on May 31, and I was worried that letters from the USCIS might get lost. Now I just hope that the card will really reach me within 30 days.

Quick question was there anyhint that you guys got approved from the CSC, also I do not want to receive emails from USCIS so when I put my application number and check case status -let s say they approve it- will i see that or do I have to request email notification in order for me to know or just by putting the receipt number is enough.

There is no indication that it was from CSC, but I am sure its not from Nebraska, they don't move this fast. lol. If you sign up for the email, you are going to receive the email, the minute they got an update.

Yea, congrats to you, too. After reading your post, I went to check my online status again. No change there. I have booked tickets for my trip overseas in May. Keep my finger crossed for all these documents I have to carry: the expired PRC, the extension letter, and the stamp!

Is the stamp you mentioned a I-551 stamp, in your passport or on a I-94(?) form? Then you wouldn't need to carry the expired PRC and the extension letter with you anymore, the stamp replaces both of them.

Does anyone know why when we check process dates online The I-751 is highlighted in yellow and other forms are in green, I am getting so desesperate about this I-751 process and I can't even call cause i am sure the customer service representative will not know what center it was sent too, they read from the computer same as we do

the colours on the screen don't mean anything, other than to differentiate the forms from each other --as you go down the list, as the form number changes, the colour changes.
