Go get a state ID asap... wait 2 weeks and return with the state ID and SSN and get the D/L

Simple as that

One would think. But it's not :(

I had my SSN, passport with K1 visa, unexpired I-94, marriage certificate, AOS NOA1, car insurance with my name, and I was still denied an ID. I have the feeling they may have become more strict in the past few months.

Saludos,

Caro

aye, that list of stuff wouldn't have worked for me in OKlahoma. It was either an EAD (and even then it was hit or miss what office would accept it, and even then a DL issued would only be valid as long as the EAD was valid) or the green card. Since I was allowed to use my Canadian DL, I used that until I received my green card.
