Update, I think the digital image was a good ideal, to make certain that it was correct. I had Inna go to the photo studio to take the pictures, email them to me and I took them to Sears and had them crop and size the images correctly. Thank you for all of your suggestions...we have a great pool of information in this community. Good luck to all!

To expedite things you can get digital image of your fiancee from Ukraine, but you may not be able to print them at drugstore or Walmart or any other shop. I had my finace's photo (jpg file) but shops refused to print them as they are infringement of copyright. Finally, I had to buy kodak paper, and print it at a friend's color inkjet printer. To get around copyright problem, you can either do what I did (print at a personal printer) or ask your fiancee to also send a letter from the photographer (email or fax or scanned) stating that copy of this file is permitted. I am assuming these copyright laws are not just for my state (Arkansas). I was very stressed when Walgreens refused to give me the printed picture, I had an argument and a frantic late night. I hope you don't go through that......just go with a permission or do it at home. Best Wishes for a speedy approval.

I-751 process:

4/06/09: Mailed I-751 to VSC by Express mail

4/07/09: Received by VSC

4/17/09: Check clearance.

4/20/09: NOA1 received in mail (receipt date: 4/08/09)

4/30/09: Biometric appt. letter received (appt. on May 15th)

5/05/09: Walk-in biometric done

9/02/09: Approval Email (touch on USCUS site)

9/03/09: Approval letter received (decision date: 8/27/09)

9/09/09: Touch, but no change in status on USCIS site.

9/11/09: Green card rec'd.

Have her get a picture taken with a digital camera and send you the .jpg file. Print the picture out at a drug store. I did this and it works fine.

I would be worried about that suggestion. There are requirements for the picture and if you dont get it right they are going to give you another rfe or deny your petition. i would go somewhere where they know how to take passport style photos.

Hey if it worked for you than thats great but i woudn't chance it. i'd be worried the whole time if it were me.

The picture was taken at a kiosk in Thailand where they make passport photos. They did it with a digital camara. My picture was taken at a kinkos, again with a digital camera. All you need to do is take the jpeg file to a Walgreens or other digital photo print kiosk and you have an official picture on real photo paper that is 2" x 2". Nobody uses film anymore.

when I first read what you posted I thought you meant something like get a friend to take the picture with their digital camera, kinda like any other normal picture. That is why i didn't think it was a good idea since there are requirements. But since you added it was done digitally at a place that does passport pictures than i think this is actually a good idea. If they will print it at walgreens or anywhere else than this is a nice shortcut.
