Do you pray before a meal at a restaurant?

There is a couple that comes in here quite often that stops and prays before they eat their food. Usually in my family we only say the blessing if there is a large group of us together eating or if my grandparents are eating with us. This is the first time I've seen people doing it in a restaurant and was curious is there is others that do it as well.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Yeah, I've had it a couple of times at the restaurant where I work. Last time was just a few days ago, a group of 6 people (who tipped me 25% gawds bless ya! :D ) sat in total silence, heads bowed before tucking into their salads. Me being me nearly barged in about to refill their pepsi glasses; I realised just in time, luckily, and waited until they had finished.

I was chatting to one of the people I work with and she says it happens now and again. Not a huge amount as we aren't quite in Bible Belt country here though.

Yes, we do.

With groups, we may designate someone to do the grace-prayer.

Yes, I do. I do it at home and in restaurants and at friends' houses. If I'm with someone who doesn't want to participate, then they don't have to...it's my beliefs, I don't force it on anyone.

I don't even pray at home before meal. But anyway, my mother (an extreme BAC) does everywhere. I remember several years ago, she actually prayed loudly at an ice cream stand. I really felt uncomfortable and thought that was over the top. I have seen some people bow their heads for a few seconds at a restuarant, but, rarely, pray audibly.

Yes.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
