Congratulations to everyone on their recent progress.

We got packet 4, the embassy scheduled the interview for March 3....hooray....the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter by the day! But it did flicker a bit, I've been off line for a few days and had a small stroke when I read a thread about a change in the police certificate...seems it will not effect us though...wheeew!

Can't believe we could have the visa in hand in about 2 weeks!

07/16/07 posted I-129f

07/20/07 confirmed delivered by US Postal Service

8/23/07 No NOA1 !!!!

8/23/07 phoned USCIS (told they can't help until after 90 days)

8/23/07 contacted bank to get copy of Cx check...illegable...noc WAC#

tried for weeks to get actual check....not possible, had to wait the 90 days for info from USCIS

10/17/07 Phoned USCIS, got thru (!), got WAC number and NOA1 date!!!!

07/26/07 NOA1 (never recieved hard copy, was promised a copy would be sent)

11/01/07 Ordered copy of "long form" UK B.C.

11/05/07 Recieved B.C. (Wish USCIS was that fast!)

11/09/07 Submitted request for UK police records

12/04/07 APPROVED By USCIS NOA2 letter sent (or so they claim)

12/15/07 Police certificate recieved

12/28/07 Called NVC, not in system

01/04/08 petition forwarded to London

01/12/08 packet 3 received *rubs eye in disbelief* Speed and efficiency, can it be?

01/18/08 HARD COPY OF NOA2 ARRIVED...seems the snail made a wrong turn somewhere.

01/28/08 Returned packet 3 to London Embassy

02/12/08 Medical completed...no problem.

02/13/08 Packet 4 received from London Embassy

03/03/08 Embassy Interview

03/06/08 Visa Arrived....Lovely to finally see it even if it is a bit drab...after 8 month you think they'd have sprung for some gold foil or at least a COLOR photo?

TODAY...he's here! He's in the US! Hurrah!

Haha at small stroke. I did too and furiously emailed ACPO.

I haven't got packet 3 yet. I tracked what I think is our petition leaving NVC on DHL. It arrived in the UK on Friday night and the bloody embassy is closed today! Do you think it would be unrealistic to hope for an end of March interview if I return it as soon as it arrives?

If you have the medical earlier than the interview, do they actually tell you it's ok or pending blood tests or whatever and then contact you when the results come through? Or, is the assumption that if you hear nothing from them all is ok?

Just trying to work out whether to have the interview and medical in one trip or in two.

Congrats to Janaus (she heard back about the fingerprints?) and the other recent approvees! Not forgetting Julez and Griff on the wedding :D

Griff did his medical and interview the same day. The doc told Griff to enjoy his new life in the US. Not sure if it always happens that way though. The doc knew Griff was very worried about the medical because he's a Type I diabetic, but reassured him that since he's so well controlled, that it wasn't an issue. Even with both events on the same day - a Monday, he had the visa in hand the following Tuesday.

I'm just assuming that Janaus is really approved! Sounded like an approval to me!

YES, I really think you could get it, especially if you've got everything all filled in and ready to send straight off. BTW I really recommend you copy the whole packet before you mail it...I had a couple of middle of the night panics (oh ####### did we sign/not sign that form by accident!!), having the copy I could check that everything was fine.

We sent ours packet 3 back later then we would have liked (January 28, and we just posted it 1st class, not over night or before 9am or anything) and got packet 4 about 15 days later with the early March date! They asked (I think it was on DS2001) when we were planning to travel, we said that we do not have a travel date but were really hoping to be able to travel by mid March, it seems they really make an effort to help you out, just let them know what you need!

Thanks Gillian! It was an absolutely lovely day - I wouldn't change a thing! I'll try to post a few pics if there are any decent ones of me. I'm afraid I'm not very photogenic.

Best wishes for you next Tuesday!! When do you leave for Vegas? I envy your trip to a warmer climate! Its bitterly cold here!

It's bitterly cold here too so I'm looking forward to getting some Nevada heat. :D

We fly to Vegas on Sunday and I can't wait. I do hope you post some pics, I bet you looked lovely. :)

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply. This is encouraging and useful info. I am really excited about everything now (and a little nervous) and hoping that when my job ends in 5 weeks time I can have all of this behind me.

Can anyone just quickly remind me which forms need signing? Also, I had a period of severe depression over 5 years ago now. Would a letter from my GP suffice or do I need to see a shrink?
