Hi all had the dreaded interview this morning Glad to report APPROVED like the other posts no asking for evidence of any sort not even the letter of intent ? strange was there approx 3 hours for 5 mins interview time tops a whole lot less painful than i expected so one more approved to add to the list .

Congrats barrel!! That was speedy!

Debz- the tax return doesn't need to be notarized. Those were old rules. The embassy website hasn't been updated yet. I sent my fiance official tax transcripts, which other ppl have done on VJ and were approved with those.

OMG....I just got through to DOS and we have an interview date already.........yaaaaaaaaaay :dance: :dance: NOw I just hope we pass it.

arrrrg. Ok got all my visa paperwork from Nick and my co-sponsor, everything there plus wee extras except tax returns not notarised. My stress levels went down to amber alert from red alert when I saw the UPS envelope arriving, now they at red flashing alert with sirens, just over 1 week to get stuff to me, cutting it really fine. Do you think if it doesn't get here in time I can take the none notarised one and then if they say anything about it not being notarised I can just tell them it's on the way.

Grrrr just spotted the letter explaining relationship to sponsor not there either!!!!!

Debz, I think the belief that the tax returns have to be notarized is one of those few VJ myths. If you think about it the tax returns were signed by the USC filing them last year at the earliest and if you have several years worth, even before that. What would you be notarizing exactly?? they are already signed and filed! Mine were not notarized and Matthew was approved in an hours time and on his way home. I wouldn't stress about that and you can have your co-sponsor fax you a letter. They never looked at our letter of intent, or over any of the info really. you will be fine!

I do think it depends on what evidence is used -

My packet 3 said

To substantiate the information regarding income and resources the sponsor should attached (attached?) two or more of the following items to the affadavit.

• notarized copy copy of his or her latest federal income tax return
• a statement from his or her employer showing salary and permanency of his or her employment
• a statement from an officer of a bank regarding his or her account, the date the account was opened and the balance present
• any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undertaking toward the applicant for what may be an indefinate period of time.

We included the first two and that was enough evidence it seemed, the tax return was notarized as requested.

Maggie, that is exactly where I'm getting my info from. I'm going to get notarised copies sent to me but try not to sweat about it too much based on other peoples experience. I'm just one of life's stresser that thinks "well if I don't do it they'll ask" I'm still convinced I'm gonna get declined anyway as Nick still not found work and not related to co-sponsor so stressing enough without the extra.

My fiance only just filed the I-129F so we have a LONg wait before we're at the interview stage but this thread is SO encouraging!

i can't wait to get my interview so we can be together. I miss him everyday......

I'm one of life's stressers too. You won't be declined, damn I thought I would be -

At my medical I was still half way through my treatment, they asked for further evidence after my op which was faxed to them, but i still had to go through 4 weeks of radiotherapy which wasnt mentioned. I finished all treatment on xmas eve. I was so sure that they would ask for further evidence at the interview. So sure that I even put my surgeons phone number on my mobile so I could call and ask for the information straight away.

At work I thrive on stress, can cope with any situation, but on a personal level I find it hard to cope. I know what I want and if anything possibly gets in the way then I panic.

I know that you are thinking that all sorts of things are going to lead to denial but believe me, you will be approved. All the stress I was going through was for nothing, it was so easy. I kept telling myself, these people have my life in their hands. Maybe I was right but they weren't out to give me the hard time I thought they were, they were friendly and gave me the approval I needed with the minimum of stress.

wherever is cheapest from glasgow. Probably via dublin (or the hell that is heathrow!!!) to chicago then chicago to lincoln or omaha
