Hey there does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get the visa after approval from the Embassy courier service.

I had my medical 16th January , interview 17th January, however still no visa delivered.

Any ideas if its coming tomorrow ? heres hoping

Sorry just would like to order some plane tickets asap.

Hi Shadow,

I had mine on the 17th as well, and got a text on Friday to say it would arrive on Monday. Best bet is to phone the SMS number you have on the receipt you got from the Embassy.

It takes around 4 working days for the Embassy to receive the medical report, also the Embassy was shut on monday (public holiday). My guess is you will get the visa in the next couple of days.

Any ideas how I can try and get my medical and interview on the same day? If I return packet 3 then book my medical when I get packet 4, what are the chances of me being able to get both in? I'm just trying to save myself two trips and I am in no immediate rush for my visa

arrrrg. Ok got all my visa paperwork from Nick and my co-sponsor, everything there plus wee extras except tax returns not notarised. My stress levels went down to amber alert from red alert when I saw the UPS envelope arriving, now they at red flashing alert with sirens, just over 1 week to get stuff to me, cutting it really fine. Do you think if it doesn't get here in time I can take the none notarised one and then if they say anything about it not being notarised I can just tell them it's on the way.

Grrrr just spotted the letter explaining relationship to sponsor not there either!!!!!

Hey guys. My interview was actually this morning, not tomorrow.

We were in and out of the embassy in under an hour. The interview itself took approximately 40 seconds after which we were approved immediately. Totally painless. Piece of piss!

Also, to anyone wondering if having your fiancé(e) present at the interview helps, in my case I think it definitely DID. They didn't ask to see any proof of the relationship whatsoever despite us bringing loads of photos and other ####. They didn't even ask to see the letters of intent, oddly. This whole process, medical aside, has been strangely effortless for us. We filed the original I-129F at the end of September, and four months to the day later we've got the visa.

They didn't ask my fiance (now hubby) for any proof of relationship either - and I was not present for the interview.

Honestly I just don't think they ask for it very often.

My fiance wasn't at my interview and I wasn't asked for any proof of relationship either. I don't think London does ask for proof very often.

I wasn't asked for proof either, wasn't even asked when I saw him last. She never asked for my old marriage certificate and I only gave her the letter of intent afterwards because she never asked for it and I thought she might need it. (She wasn't very organised, had papers everywhere and kept losing her list and her pen )

Debz, I think the belief that the tax returns have to be notarized is one of those few VJ myths. If you think about it the tax returns were signed by the USC filing them last year at the earliest and if you have several years worth, even before that. What would you be notarizing exactly?? they are already signed and filed! Mine were not notarized and Matthew was approved in an hours time and on his way home. I wouldn't stress about that and you can have your co-sponsor fax you a letter. They never looked at our letter of intent, or over any of the info really. you will be fine!
