P&P were approved this morning. He posted a review under the embassy link at the top. We are thrilled this part is finished and can't wait for him to move and get married.

Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations :star: , first of many this week hopefully.

Clamping down on taking phones to the embassy is new. I didn't take my phone last week but everyone around me did and I wished I had since I had to bag and store my car keys in the hut anyway (they had a USB memory stick on them).

Clamping down on taking phones to the embassy is new. I didn't take my phone last week but everyone around me did

I get worried whenever there is a suggestion that the embassy is going to start having a problem with people checking their mobile phone in with security before their interview. I regard this as a safety issue for those of us who have to travel a long way to get to London using public transport and am used to checking in with my Mum regularly to reassure her that I'm alive and well. Does anyone have anything concrete on this issue?

Also, big congratulations to the recent approvals and my best wishes for those still waiting to hear.

Hi all. I think i've only posted once previously here, but advise etc has been invaluable. I had my interview this morning and was approved pending fingerprints not being dodgy (which I guess is normal??) :)

There was a definite 'no phones or any electrical equipment' policy in force today. The policeman outside said this was quite recent and you would definitely not be allowed in the building with anything electrical, even car key fobs that are battery powered etc.

I did have my mobile with me, and was directed to go to the chemist just down the road, where you can drop your phone/electronic items for collection afterwards. They charged me £10 for the honour... great work if you can get it! My phone was absolutely fine there, and it looked like they were doing excellent business lol.

I hope that's some comfort for anybody who needs a mobile with them for their trip to london.

Matt

Well, that's a relief that it is really nearby! I had to text my Mum about 20 times when I went up to London for my medical to reassure her I hadn't been mugged or something.

Hope you get your visa delivered soon ^_^

The new phone rule:

I'm planning to be in the UK and go to the interview with my fiance. Now I've decided to sit in the park with a big rolling suitcase and a sign that says, "I'll hold your phone for 5 quid." That should take care of the train fare and hotel.
