Congratulations to everyone who has been successful over the last few days.

Not been on the list much recently as I decided to find out if bronchitis in the US was as bad as the UK strain. It is and you get a medical bill as well. :(

Sorry to hear that Lansbury. Hope you feel better soon. (F)

Totally amazed at how easy it was.

LOL

It is amazing that everyone is so convinced that somehow, in the absence of any issues, they will be different and be denied. I was exactly the same way!

 Had my interview this morning. Passed

Oh my goodness. I swear I slept for only 2 hours. I kept waking up and looking at the clock. I was convinced I was going to sleep through the alarm.

Anyway. It was so easy and not the least bit as stressful as I thought it would be.

My interview was at 8am. I got there around 7.40am. Went through the relatively short security line. Took off my ever so huge earrings and watch. I've around the Embassy area before and I have now found that Marble Arch station is by far the closest. Trust me! I'm not a great walker.

Checked in with the receptionist and got ticket number 5004. Nice number as the first one was 5000 (immigrant visas). They whizz through the non-immigrant applicants (1000's). But I only waited for around 40 mins to be called first. Went loo twice before being called. lol

Got called to the window. Handed over my documents to a really nice lady who smiled throughout after she informed me her petticoat was twisted under her skirt and annoying her.

She took all my documents. Asked me to go to another window to pay the fee. I was actually worried as I hadn't changed cash to dollars, but that was no problem and I actually got $262 dollars for both visas for the amount of only £132. Great rate! Wonder if they'll change some currency for me at that rate? She took copy of his tax form, I134 and copy of letter from his employer. That was it. Including of course my Police Report, Birth Certificates etc.

Had my fingerprints taken and then was sent back to wait in the seating area. Which by the way, was standing room only by the time I got through the whole process. :o

Was called back to another window after only 20 minutes. Another nice lady asked how we met, how I get on with his children, etc.

Had to then retake my fingerprints. Only left hand this time. By the way! How hard is it to get the darn two thumbs together? lol

Then did the whole '' I swear this is the truth'' statement and was told bar anything coming back on my fingerprints I'll have my visas in the next 3-5 days. Woohoo!

***** On a separate note. My son is in his father's name. We never married but thanks to L&P (many thanks) and some of the posts on here I got a couple of copies of letters from both my local HMCS and the Family Division of the HMCS stating that I have full parental responsibility and his father has not now or ever had (requested) or earned that right. I was asked if I was ever married. No! She looked over the document and handed it back.)*****

Thanks again to everyone for all the help and support. I can now look forward to the future.
