Hi there everyone...

I should have posted to this thread long ago. I read it all the time but never did post. Anyway, Sam had his interview in London on April 21.

They gave him a conditional approval, but (hopefully everybody knows this by now) his interviewer wouldn't accept the old police cert, even though it only arrived in March.

We already had it when we received packet 3, which listed both options. Also, we'd read that they would accept the old ones until August, so off he went with his £10 police cert.

No joy. We ended up expiditing the new one, and the embassy now has his passport and new police cert. We're now waiting nervously for the visa to come back!

Anyway, just a heads up for those who have interview dates coming up - don't take a chance with the old form! :-)

And congratulations to all the recent approvals!!!!

Don't I know it...Darren and I are going through the exact same thing...the courier is picking up his police certificate and passport tomorrow. Such a waste of time and money. They really need to correct the website or make it more clear (what the UK Embassy classifies as immigrant or non-immigrant, and so forth...)...

But at least that's all that's holding this up for us!!!

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Hi All,

We are still waiting on the interview date to be set. We sent Packet 3 in on the 16th of April but no word yet. I put down August 1st to move but as M has gotten into her first choice law school with 100% funding and starts on August 15th we aim to be outta here around early July.

Should I call them and highlight this as time's a marching on?

Good luck with all upcoming interviews and congrats to all recent approvals. And I don't know if he's updated yet, but Andy from Milneshine (from the UK) had his interview on Monday and got the visa. We met up in the pub opposite Bentwick mansions after my medical (on Monday too) and got royally pissed to celebrate.

Getting the train back to Stansted from Bond Street whilst dying for a pee and very very late for check-in is no picnic I tell thee!!!

Cheers Guys,

Just booked our flights over - Merc is coming with me - and we can stay with my sis and her other half in Primrose Hill. He works in Bond Street and has an 8.30am start so we can travel in with him.

God I'm really nervous.

One problem, we have already booked a trip to Paris on the 29th and I'm wondering, how long until we can expect my passport back?

Life's never simple, eh?

One possible resolution is applying for an Irish passport.

Now, maybe Poiteen can help here. It says somewhere on the packet 3 forms, list any countries you have a passport for. I put none as I never got an Irish one. But will applying for one now, which I will have by the time I go for interview jeopardize my interview?

Thoughts?

Congrats Damian & Kelly!! :D

Likewise, I'll be at the mercy of the wonderful courier SMS next week! Have had dealings with them before, with concert tickets. Not fun! But at least that's all I have to worry about now, not flying out for 6 weeks.

Good job with those who've just got interview dates. Wishing you all the very best.
