Perhaps this is an odd question. For the various interviews where you have to prove your realationship I assume most people bring in paper form what they have, bank statements, pictures, licenses, etc. Has anyone ever scanned it all and put it on cd? Seems to me it would make it simpler to go through and you wouldn't have to carry your life around in a big box. Any thoughts?

They would need to have a computer available for that and not fear viruses on their computers.

I think in a case like immigration going with the good old paper is probably easier. It's easy nowadays to fake document with programs and to rearange something scanned, it's a bit harder to change something sent to you by a bank or other agencies.

Plus sure it takes less room to put everything on CD, but it probably will take you less time to organise those documents in a folder than to scan it.

Due to security issues, its unlikely that the uscis would accept evidence evidence in any electronic form.

Not such an odd question - things like CD-ROM/DVD-ROMs and even Web Pages (MySpace etc) have been asked about - but the reality is, they (USCIS or any government office) will not accept this type of material as evidence (security reasons being the most obvious). In today's age, it would make things easier, but alas, it's the government we're talking about..

When I had my interview, the INS officer didnt have a computer, plus he asked to keep some of the extra documents I had. You cant do that with a cd, not a bad idea though however that may take another 10-20 years before they implement a policy like that, or it may never happen.

At our AOS interview, we joked and said to our officer it would be a lot easier to bring in a CD with all the proof on there. She said they do not accept CDs, paper only! CDs may not open properly and then the burden of proof is not met and they have needless backlogs.

Plus the CD feature would save us time, not them. And as we know this is not how the system is designed :)
