Traveling with her child and a GC

We just had a very disappointing time at the airport. We were denied seating on a Delta airline from Kansas city to Kiev to visit the in-laws over Christmas and New Years. The reason they gave was that her daughter didn't have a passport.

A little background. My wife and her daughter both have their GC's, my wife has her Ukraine passport with all her daughters information in it, just as it has had for the past 4 years. We traveled last year at the same time without any problems. We travel from 12/26 to 1/17.

At the Delta counter the agent said that her daughter needed to have her own passport and that all children, even babies are required to ahve a passport. I'm sure that is true for Americans but in Ukraine children do not have their own passport, they are included on their parents.

I tried to explain this to the agent and his manager but they didn't seem to understand.

Since we were denied on the plane and over $3K has been spent on tickets and lsot, what recourse is there?

Wow, this is absurd. This should not have happend. I would be contacting an attorney that has a specialty in immigration and travel, and I would be calling the TSA hotline to see if they can explain what happened and if there is possibly some recourse? I'm very interested in hearing what happens please follow up with a post.

Peace

Your recourse is against Delta.... Assemble your facts and file a complaint.

I agree.
