Hi

Does anyone know which is the best phonecard etc to use for my loved one to contact me in the uk. I use best minutes to call her which is only 1p per minute but her calling card costs her a fair bit more than that.

Any help would be greatful

Thanks

David

We use this one http://www.worldphonecard.com/epages/wpc.s...5000-15001730-2

When I was living in the UK we'd speak every day for about an hour, and $30 seemed to last 2 weeks to a month. Now I use it to call my family and it lasts forever.

There are probably better ones out there but we've never had problems with this one :)

Hi, we use vonage to give us a local US number that we can use in the UK. You get a router and plug your internet and a phone in. Works well if you have a good internet connection.

Have also used skype in the past, which if you both have skype is a free computer to computer call. If not, US to UK is 0.02 USD per min. As with vonage you can get your own number for any of a number of countries. I think that there is a monthly subscription called skype pro, which gives you cheaper and inclusive calls.

Hope that helps.

We use 'Jangl'

http://www.jangl.com/JanglWeb/Default.aspx

It takes a bit of patience to set up as you have to confirm that you allow them to call you, but as long as your contacts have an email addy, you get a 'Jangl' number to call them and they get one to call you. At the weekend our calls are free on our cell phones so it's free to call the UK. They say it's charged as a local call, but the number I have to call is a Phoenix # so for me it would be charged as such. My sons in London have to call a Leeds #, but they have a BT plan that allows them to call nationally for a set fee.

Hope this makes sense, but it's worth a try....the call quality is excellent and they do free texts too, but we have never tried it.
