Of all the possible routes, DCF is the fastest and best. I do not know specifics for Egypt, but overall DCF rarely takes a full six months especially if nothing goes wrong. After the petition is approved, your husband will receive the visa application packet - it will have the DS-230 (usually only Part 1 at this point) along with instructions for the medical exam and a list of the all the documents you'll need to bring to the interview. Your husband will return the DS-230 and checklist of documents (just the checklist saying he has the required documents, not the documents themselves). And then you will receive a letter with the information about your visa appointment. I would start work on the police check for your husband, but otherwise just take things as they come and try to relax. :)

As long as you and your husband have been legal residents in Egypt for at least six months, the application should be processed. As long as your marriage is legal, you can show sufficient financial support (you will need a US-based co-sponsor most likely unless you have a lot of assets) and if your husband has no past convictions, drug use, or very serious communicable diseases, you shouldn't run into any serious problems.
