Being here illegal and falling inlove is one thing, false id's and ss cards is another thing. THAT is what set me off. And the fact of her children or her sisters kids whatever, in what to tell them when, as if having kids can help keep him here and bypass the heartache and pain alot of us are enduring. Yes MAYBE her family would have to seperate for a little while, hers wouldnt be the first to do so, and youd get through it.

I would have been so happy to help, but theres already illegal activity going on in this that i condone so much, i find it hard to be suzie sunshine over it.

Most illegals do have some sort of fake ID. I know Javier did. It mostly just comes with the territory.

I wasnt aware that fake id's and ss cards was such a big acceptance now. Last time I checked it was illegal and unlawful to have one, then again what do i know, ive only done legal things in my life. And have never supported illegal acts.

ROTFLOL @ you have only done LEGAL things in your life. I'm sure you've never broken any law...not even once. How many high school kids have fake IDs? PS-It's not acceptable, but it's also not unusual. And NEVER say NEVER because it's NEVER true!

No i never had a fake ID, nor did i have the urge to fake anything about myself or documents! and i can say NEVER especially over something like this, because with illegal situations will eventually come consequenses, and i myself chose not to place myself into situations where things could become harder or worse than what they already are.

And on the kids issue. Javier and I were married and actively trying to have kids before he went back to Mexico to get his visa. I got pregnant before he left but miscarried. I would not have put my life on hold just because of his status.

And that's fine. Your life, your choice. It is just very annoying when people (and I am not saying you are part of that group) develop some sort of entitlement mentality once they made their choices and have them kids and then cry foul when the hubby needs to leave...

So you are suggesting that I, Melissa, or the OP should have turned our loved one in for being here illegally. Gosh, that's great love there.

There is a real philosophical difference in my opinion. I believe some people just wouldn't put themselves in a position to fall in love with someone who was currently commiting illegal behavior. Maybe that would just be a turn off.... different strokes for different folks. You have to know what you will be up against in a relationship like this and to think all will be hunky dory is extremely naive.

Well that I agree with. I was told our waiver wouldn't be approved because we didn't have kids. I think a lot of people use that as an excuse and that's sad. OMG! We actually agree on something.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I cant believe someone actually told you that!!! And I agree with the "I think a lot of people use that as an excuse and that's sad."= it is a very sad day when someone will use their children to gain ANYTHING in life!!

I heard there was poo-flingin in here from another thread, :D anyway....

No there is nothing he can do, the problem is not that he is illegal. Many people who overstay their visa are classified as illegal. The problem is that he entered the US illegally. There is a law that would alllow them to get married and pay a hefty fine in exchange for AOS. This law is called section 245(i), its part of the grandfathering law that would allow her to sponser her illegal husband.

This law in not in affect anymore and the last time it was in effect was 2001. They opened a 4 month window where you could sponser someone that entered illegally. So there is nothing she can do as an answer to your question.

I used to be in Human resources awhile ago, the company got purchased and we had to re-process all the paperwork again. As I was checking the I-9 forms, I noticed that there was 20 employees that had the same green card number...we had to let them all go. We later found out that they all purchased a green card, SS# combo from some guy that was apparently using the same green card number for everyone. He sold the set for $200. We reported the guy selling the cards, but not the Employees

I knew 2 men who were in the US illegally from Colombia years ago. They came to our church for awhile before we knew and they were great guys who had sneaked inside the US to be able to make money. We did not report them to the authorities, however we did support that they should go back to Colombia if they want to do what's right legally. They agreed and they on their own free will, decided to go back to Colombia because they knew what they had done was wrong. And it did impact them being able to visit the US in the future. That was over 10years ago and I think after 5 years they were allowed to visit, this time with a visa. But they never for one moment regretted going back themselves to do what they thought was right instead of waiting to be deported.

I wouldn't suggest anyone turn in their loved one but I'd definitely suggest them deciding to go back on their own to their home country for the sake of their future and then start the legal process to be together, instead of waiting until they are caught to go back.

I also would NEVER imply someone turn their loved one in. But she says hes "responsible" then let him be responsible, and do the RIGHT thing. Alot of people have had to say a temporary goodbye to a loved one so he or she could return to their homeland to file for a visa the proper way. Its better than a permanent goodbye, especially if caught with fake documents.

1st: you are incorrect. Many illegals contribute to Social Security. Because you say it does not make it so.

Secondly, you seem to have confused the word 'social' with Social Security.

PS: if you disagree, *you* cite your source that shows that illegal workers do not contribute to Social Security. I speak from actual personal experience in addition to reading.

Is this true? I'm not so sure. Just wondering how someone with a fake ss number can contribute to Social Security (the fund you draw from when you get old)? Maybe I'm not reading you correctly. Or are you talking about a different form of social security?

I somehow get the feeling we will never hear from the OP until her husband/fiance or sisters husband/fiance(whoever the illegal is) until after he has been deported and she wants to file correctly.

I was in love with a COKE head once. I almost turned him in for his own good...

but I refrained.

I liked his family too much.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Really? He was doing something illegal. I was in love with him. It was a choice HE WAS MAKING to do the illegal thing. I couldn't HELP that I was in love with him.

How's that different? The only difference I see is that it was detrimental to his health...illegal immigration isn't?

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
