Don't expect much sympathy from anyone here. They're too blinded by their hatred of a potential amnesty to see the situation for what it is-your fiance came over illegally when you didn't even know him yet,

i totally beg to differ. Im blinded by nothing!!! What I have a problem with is an illegal coming here and trying to do the things we are all doing on here, yet thinking there is an EASY FASTER way of doing things. and you say hers will take atleast a year while some of us get it in months, have you not read some of the posts from other people, theres are taking a year or more as well.

There is a law, and it is inplace for a reason! Wouldnt it just be so grand if all of us could have our fiances/husbands here waiting with us as the process is going through!?!?!

I dont understand why people always look for the easy road, the easy road is not always the best road! Sometimes you have to put effort and work and heartache into something to get the best results.

Do you not know you're preaching to the choir here? Come now, if there's anyone getting pissed off about people having an "Easy Road" I would think it would be those of us who are actually paying for the same offenses which are affording these individuals that easy road. I don't think her easy road is practical or possible, and I fully believe she will go through the process that everyone else has.

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

I knew it wasnt going to be a picnic in the sun YES! It doesnt take knowing about the whole system to figure that out. And i was prepared to go through it all the right way, NO i did not try and find EASIER or FASTER ways around this way. I knew the K1 was the only way i could go, or the K3, either way was going to be LONG AND NOT EASY AT ALL! But never did i imagine trying to illegally do something OR make the process faster, what faster way is there? no matter what you do that involves the government, ITS NOT GONNA BE FAST AND EASY!

So I guess before you started this immigration process you knew everything about it and didn't wonder if there was an easier way.

She may not know about the immigration process...I'll stretch and give you that...but she damn sure knows that falsifying a SS card is very illegal....

And as far as getting a visa in a few months...well...I'd have like to have been in that group myself. Doing everything completely correct with no AR, waivers, or RFE's took us 17 months. Wish there'd have been a fast track for us too...

I think you are missing the point. He is already here illegally. He was here illegally when they met so now they are trying to do it legally. She came here asking for advice and she is getting bombarded with "go back home you illegals" and "how can do keep breaking the law", etc., etc. Try just giving her advice on what she should do instead of harping at her about something she had no control over. I certainly didn't have anything to do with my husband coming here illegally, but I sure did make it right. Like I said, I don't think she intended to come across as thinking they should have special priviledges. I think she just simply wanted to know what their options were. But, since everyone jumped down her throat, she probably won't come back and still has no idea what they can do to correct their current situation.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I think what upset people a lot was the "but what about the kids" line. Now, there's something the OP had control over. Just guessing that the OP was well aware that the hubby was here illegally before she had his children, no? Thus my earlier comment that this is the bed she made for the kids. It ain't nobody else's fault that they get to sleep in it. To sugest otherwise is what makes people mad...

Considering this is only my second post in this thread, I'd hardly say I'm jumping down anyone's throat... I know HE did it...but it again brings up the question, why does someone knowingly support another's continued illegal behavior/actions?

Fair enough and bravo to folks like you and Melissa who ARE going down the legal path now...but I do believe there are people who just want to find ways around the system...with no thought to anyone else.

Being here illegal and falling inlove is one thing, false id's and ss cards is another thing. THAT is what set me off. And the fact of her children or her sisters kids whatever, in what to tell them when, as if having kids can help keep him here and bypass the heartache and pain alot of us are enduring. Yes MAYBE her family would have to seperate for a little while, hers wouldnt be the first to do so, and youd get through it.

I would have been so happy to help, but theres already illegal activity going on in this that i condone so much, i find it hard to be suzie sunshine over it.

Most illegals do have some sort of fake ID. I know Javier did. It mostly just comes with the territory.

I wasnt aware that fake id's and ss cards was such a big acceptance now. Last time I checked it was illegal and unlawful to have one, then again what do i know, ive only done legal things in my life. And have never supported illegal acts.

ROTFLOL @ you have only done LEGAL things in your life. I'm sure you've never broken any law...not even once. How many high school kids have fake IDs? PS-It's not acceptable, but it's also not unusual. And NEVER say NEVER because it's NEVER true!

I agree.....this has been hard on all of us, and are bank accounts are not exactly overflowing, but I wouldnt sit back idly while my husband robbed a bank and then look for ways to get him out of it. Its the illegal stuff that has gone on and the woe is me attitude for her and her kids.We all have issues with this immigration rollercoaster but we are doing this and surviving.

So you are suggesting that I, Melissa, or the OP should have turned our loved one in for being here illegally. Gosh, that's great love there. And on the kids issue. Javier and I were married and actively trying to have kids before he went back to Mexico to get his visa. I got pregnant before he left but miscarried. I would not have put my life on hold just because of his status. Being illegal doesn't mean you live a completely different kind of life. They are still people just like you and still want the same things out of life. They just made some bad decisions. Something I am sure you have never done. I don't know if she thought she should get special treatment because of her kids. Maybe she did, if so then that was dumb. I give you that one. But not having kids or a life of any kind just because your SO is illegal is a pretty dumb idea also.
