To the OP-come to the Waiver forum. You will have to file a Waiver for your fiance's illegal presence, as many others have. Although it sounds tempting, don't just keep him around waiting for the law to change because:

1. It probably won't change any time soon.

2. Even if it does, it won't help a fiance situation.

3. He could get deported in the meantime (and if you want to know how much fun that is, I can tell you). You want to have to explain to the kids why daddy's in jail? Didn't think so.

Don't expect much sympathy from anyone here. They're too blinded by their hatred of a potential amnesty to see the situation for what it is-your fiance came over illegally when you didn't even know him yet, you met and fell in love which is a perfectly natural normal thing, now you want to do things the right way. Much love and respect to you for that. It takes a certain degree of courage to go for that because, despite what everyone's been telling you, getting a Visa for a previously illegal is a longer, more complicated process than what everyone else is going through-the only thing I can think of that takes longer is AP/AR.

So while most people are getting their Visa in a matter of months, you can expect this process to take upwards of a year. But I'm telling you it will be worth it in the end to be able to rest easy and not spend your days worrying if "this is the day"-I feel you, I've been there.

As for those people who say illegals make your process longer, it's obvious you're so blinded by hate that you have lost sight of the REAL cause of background checks and such-TERRORISTS and those who file FRAUDULENT PAPERWORK-not the illegal who hops over the border and doesn't even fill out any paperwork...now that's just common sense.

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

I have no problem with her doing correctly and too applaud the fact she wants to be legal. What i object to is the 'i cant wait, what about the kids' attitude!!

Melissa, no offense, you know i like you and all, but you are dead wrong when you talk about hatred.

We don't hate illegal immigrants and the amnesty that is suggested for them. We just think it's wrong.

For me at least, it's a matter of ethics. I just happen to have a view on what is right and wrong.

Well to that attitude, I have to say to the OP, suck it up because waiting you will be! Better to tell the kids daddy's gone to Mexico to visit family-they will make it, trust me.

Fuzz, when I speak of hatred, I certainly don't think of someone like you. But it does exist. Comments like "get his azz back to Mexico" reek of it.

Melissa I think everyone should do it the proper way. I was the first to post this to her in the beginning. But then fake ids, ss cards and all were brought up. So this is crimminal activity.

No one faults someone for falling in love. Hey we all did it. I did not just one day say I am going to fall in love with someone around the world? But when we do the government has laws in place for us to bring our loved ones over. I have not seen my husband in over one year. Missed anniversary, birthdays and all other events. And I am in AP/AR hell now.:(

As to what I put in the quote box above if they have to stop and process the illegals in the USA who will process our cases that are going the correct route? They are already here so that makes them a priority. Think about it?

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

I do not have any hate for this OP or any other person who is trying to do things legal.... but I do have an issue with her reasons for just sitting back and waiting for the government to change the rules and her partners use of a fake SSN and greencard....

Mary, to address your concern (which was DEFINITELY a concern of mine as well) I am fairly confident that if anything does happen, they're going to the back of the line. Not that I have much respect for what the Pres. says, but he has actually stated that he won't allow all that cutting in line.

i totally beg to differ. Im blinded by nothing!!! What I have a problem with is an illegal coming here and trying to do the things we are all doing on here, yet thinking there is an EASY FASTER way of doing things. and you say hers will take atleast a year while some of us get it in months, have you not read some of the posts from other people, theres are taking a year or more as well.

There is a law, and it is inplace for a reason! Wouldnt it just be so grand if all of us could have our fiances/husbands here waiting with us as the process is going through!?!?!

I dont understand why people always look for the easy road, the easy road is not always the best road! Sometimes you have to put effort and work and heartache into something to get the best results.

1.. americans have access to services if they take the time to do one thing "ASK " for help.

I know what I am talking about. when I was pregante had no insurance I got help. the catch is

I had to ASK! not expect it to fall out the sky!

2..Funding for school is there for anyone that wants it. even if you are rich or poor.

now on to the illegal immigration issue.

" but the fact that poverty exists in the US is not the fault of illegals but of USCs not caring about their own enough to support better social services, higher wages, and the like. "

thats Bull dog and you know it!

1st..who do you think will contribute when you get old and start sniffing around for social security?

where will it come from? the good old social security fairy? let me tell you someting the illegals are not contributing jack dog- towards social security !!! so when you are in your 80s and waitng to rest your bones you will see the problem clearly.

2nd.. as it stands now the social security well is running on empty..

1st: you are incorrect. Many illegals contribute to Social Security. Because you say it does not make it so.

Secondly, you seem to have confused the word 'social' with Social Security.

PS: if you disagree, *you* cite your source that shows that illegal workers do not contribute to Social Security. I speak from actual personal experience in addition to reading.

So I guess before you started this immigration process you knew everything about it and didn't wonder if there was an easier way. I don't think she is asking for a repreve from having to do what she should. I think she was just being human in asking, "Is there a better, faster way?" I can say, I knew nothing about this process. I had no idea what it would take to get Javier here legally. She came here asking for advice and all anyone can do is complain because her fiance is here illegally. As I said before, maybe we should actually try to help people in their situations instead of ostracizing them.
