note that it states immigration based on k1 k3 etc. nowhere do i see where it includes or hints at assisting those who are here illegally.........

as for the topic of illegals not paying or paying social security - i'm sure that those who are paid in cash (and yes many are) don't ever report such.

There is a method under the law for 'illegals" married to US citizens to get legal. You expect that because you laid down a certain number of $$$ that that's the only entitlement? Sorry, but you need a wake up call. Drift out of the lily white pages of VJ and read some other immigration boards. Find out what MOST family based immigration is like. The cases on VJ are a small minority of 'how it's done'.

It is not cheap, fast or painless for EWIs to get legal, btw. I think you've completely misread the original post.

Further wake up: Illegal immigrant workers are not just out grunting in the fields picking strawberries, m'kay? They work in real jobs, on a real payroll, using a Social Security number from (where ever). They are cut a check every two weeks like the rest of the crew, and they deposit it in a bank just like you and I do. Federal witholding can not be eliminated, no matter how many dependants you claim, and the Social Security/Medicare contribution is just over 15%. Half of that is witheld from the employee, the employer contributes the other half.

Just yesterday, a Netherlands-based US manufacturer with 5800 employees was raided. 1200 of their employees were arrested on immigration violations (they also caught one guy there to get hired). In 2005, and audit revealed that more than HALF of their employees had "invalid or mismatched Social Security numbers". Word is, SSA likes having people dump money into the fund that won't have to be paid back.. it's helping their own shortfall.

I couldn't even read the last few posts completely. Seems people have got themselves all wound up here and are not making sense anymore.

Word is, SSA likes having people dump money into the fund that won't have to be paid back.. it's helping their own shortfall.

Word is also, that immigration and other law enforcement wanted to work off of those SSN discrepancies from time to time and it was certain "immigration rights" groups (this funny label cracks me up every time) that cried foul.

you have quite obviously missed the point. that i have spent a considerable amount of money, and will spend more, does not imply that i'm granted to any entitlement other than to have my petition considered along with all of the others who have done the same thing. it's simply stating that i'm following the law and all of the requirements of such. you with me so far?

as for finding other sites, i have no need to. this one meets all of my needs in the way of legal immigration. and no, i did not miss her original post at all. the obvious meaning within it was well noticed by all as evidenced by the uproar that ensued. so no need for you to try to sound smug and superior.

furthermore, i'm aware that all illegals are not out picking strawberries. i do not appreciate one bit your attempts to attribute such racist preconceptions to my previous postings.

at least in your post you do somewhat admit to fake or stolen ssn's being used. wow! yet my point about the pay was that some do get paid cash in hand (i said some - not all! don't try to twist that too!) and that such means ss, fed, and state taxes are not withheld from such. it's not my fault that my prior statement was construed by you to imply that illegal workers "pick strawberries"

yes, i'm aware that the ssa keeps the money when such occurs. instead of rejoicing at the potential windfall for the ssa and perhaps at the continual liquidity of such......try to think about those with stolen ssn's and how it affects them. like when some apply for unemployment after being laid off, or retire and apply for their hard earned benefits, and discover they can't get such, since they are "employed" on the opposite coast because someone is using their ssn!

They, unfortunately, have no voice. Those that scam them out of their well deserved benefits do. Some can't see any wrong in that and choose instead to join the misguided crowd that suggests that these scams benefit all of us in some way. It's laughable. Almost.

Illegal activity is just WRONG! no matter why it was done, how it was done, or who it was done to. The concequenses not only affect the person who is doing the illegal activity but also affects people around them. There for I see no reason to shed a tear for anyone who does anything illegally and has to pay for their actions, nor for people who encourage or allow it to happen and sit back expecting anything good to come out of it.
