I'd like to chime about illegals and taxes...if I may.

Many of them claim 20 dependents on their W-4 and hardly have any money taken out of their paychecks. They file taxes and claim they have dependents in Mexico and get large returns. They don't even need to have a SS# to do that, they only need an Itin# which is easy to get.

Do some pay taxes yes, the majority not really when you take into consideration what I just said.

Really? He was doing something illegal. I was in love with him. It was a choice HE WAS MAKING to do the illegal thing. I couldn't HELP that I was in love with him.

How's that different? The only difference I see is that it was detrimental to his health...illegal immigration isn't?

Yes, that's the key difference, I would say.

that's only one difference.

I would think to be VERY VERY different there would have to be at least 8-10 differences.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Fair enough. I'd say you are probably too close to the issue to have an objective perspective anyway, no offense. I was the same way with my coke head ex...it happens.

I think it is similar. Yet one result is going to prison and having your civil liberties taken away, while the other is being deported and loosing civil liberties you didn't have any right to in the first place.

Lets see, drug use: illegal

coming into the US without the proper papers, and carrying fake ids and/or ss cards: illegal..........the only comparison seems to be the same word, ILLEGAL

i saw atleast that point being made by karo

Now that I have a minute, please don't simply dismiss me as though I somehow have my vision clouded as to the bigger picture here. You look and you see illegal=illegal so you try and make a point comparing illegals to coke addicts. I still say big difference. No reasonable person would turn in the person they love because they are an illegal alien. I might however be so inclined if the person I loved was damaging their health and probably the relationship by doing drugs. And it would be for their own good, which I can't see how turning your husband in because he's here illegally would be for anyone's own good. Send him back to Mexico, sure, but turn him in? The thought is purely and simply ridiculous.

So here is a question then to the ppl that are involved with (ex)illegal ppl here in the US or back and trying to do it the correct way now.

When my wife was in tears asking me why she can not work, travel to visit families, etc because she did not have the proper documents.. but her class mates in the ESL class she was attending all were working, etc though illegally immigrated...

What should I have said instead of "I do not know how long it will take, I am sorry. I just want to do it the correct way and make sure that you are always in legal status."

Because you know... I felt dirty and helpless for that as she cried and wanted to return home many times because it took so such a long time to even hear of the process moving along. And yes, I'd really like to know.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
