On 12/18 we got an email from CRIS saying that our case was tranfered to CSC. The next day I checked case status online and we had a "touch".

Today my wife and I returned from christmas at my parents house to find a USCIS letter in our mailbox.

We were completely surprised to find that it was an intverview notice!

It was dated 12/18.... (must have been the touch) and our interview is scheduled 02/27/2007.

It seems a bit strange to me that we were transfered and then a day later they scheduled an interview.

Also, our interview notice came from MSC and not CSC.... where our case was suposedly transfered to.

It all just seems a bit weird to me.... :huh:

05/03/2007 NOA2!!! (2 identical emails from CRIS received 20:00:09 -0400 EDT)

That's not strange at all... It could happen to any cases. If CSC thinks your case requires an interview, they'll forward it back to your local office and then they'll set an interview appointment. Consider it as a blessing in disguise because as you know, a lot of cases are still in the limbo... no movement, no progress...

CSC itself doesn't interview people so I would double check WHERE your interview is. If it doesn't say so on the interview notice then you will need to do an Infopass at your local office to find out what is going on. For example, if your interview is just up the road to where you live and your file is at CSC then they can't approve you at your local office as they don't have the file, which is at CSC (who didn't issue the interview notice in the first place!).

There may be some cross purposes going on here and, as we all know, USCIS DOES make mistakes. Please check this out, don't leave things as is.
